As you say these things happen within a family. Maybe we can look at it positively and consider this a family with love between us. And I agree about working it out with love and forgiveness.Hehe hello shadowcat welcome back...
in my opinion, about the recent conflicts in the inner room, i think its pretty normal. something would be very wrong i think, if things like these didnt happen.. im not saying that its fantastic either.. its jus something we would expect sometimes... and like what BM said, love and forgiveness will help us to work together as a family..
Will continue to pray for you and Brett and your brother. May the truth be revealed. I pray that the Lord's love and guidance will be with you.I'm excited yet nervous to try this new church but I think only good will come from it.
Everything is the same with Brett-we talked and I haven't pushed anything because I don't to push him away - God has a plan and all I can do is be an example
We fianlly heard from my brother this morning - he didn't right out say he was into Sciencetology but my dad felt the classes Matt has to take for the 'church' sounded like sciencetology classes
Sabbie said:Thank you Bondman for that word today! You are so right! Sunday Morning Christians are the ones that seem to have no battles, always having a relaxed easy walk.
The deeper spirit filled Christian, that prays without ceasing and feels deeply for the furtherance of the kingdom, is the one that bears the battle scars. The Christian that has their heart pulled when someone is hurting and hastens to pray for them is the one that is weary from holding up their neighbor's burden. The Christian that would lay down his life for his brother or sister is the one that holds the breath inside them that screams out the battle cry against the enemy.
I rather like being a little scarred, weary and out of breath. Then I know that I am where I am supposed to be and doing what HE wants me to do.
I praise You Father for the fight. I am Yours and You are mine!
Praise You Father!
Hello Friends
Have a Blessed Day
It is actually hot and sunny in UK today, after several weeks of heavy rain, and many homes were flooded out.
My dad had a wonderful message at church this morning. He is doing a series on 'knee-ology' or prayer. Today he talked about something that he and I actually talked about the last time Brett and I were here. Dad's sermon was about our relationship with God. He talked about different names for the Father but focused on Abba. I wish I could capture exactly what my dad said but the idea behind it was that what we call God directly affects our prayer life.
That saying God is a more formal term that could (but does not always) imply that we view God as a distant being who is not directly involved in His creations lives. Another way would be to look at Him as the Great Creator who is all powerful and that if we displease Him He will strike us down. This is the old testament God. The one that was feared, the one that it was felt could not be directly approached and the one you could not have a one on one relationship with - a God you needed someone to speak to for you.
In the New Testament we learn a new name for the Father - Father or Abba. Father is a formal way of referring to your male parental type figure but Abba is more of an informal intimate term like daddy or dada or papa. A term we use out of love and appreciation. Jesus taught us to pray using terms like OUR FATHER and ABBA. We were taught by and through Christ that God is not just some creator that has a distance interest in us and not a God who will strike us down for sinning against Him no it is the opposite. God is our Father our daddy who wants to be there with us.
Our Abba wants to pick us up off the ground when we fall. Our Abba has endless love that we can not truly understand. Our Abba has given EVERYTHING for us. Our Abba brings out the fatted calf every time we return. Our Father, Our Abba, loves us endlessly, without bounds, and with complete giving.
When we come to our Abba in prayer we are having a direct, complete, INTIMATE relationship with Him. Our Abba is the one that we can share anything with and know that He is listening and will never turn away from us. When we pray to our Abba we know that He will answer our prayers we never leave a CONVERSATION with Him wondering about that - we might wonder when He will answer or prayers but we never doubt that He will.
God is good all the time! That is so very true and I hope that I was able to present the word of God as eloquently as my daddy was able to this morning.

Great post, Amanda! Ya dun good, hon!
(Just as a matter of interest, when I started on forums - which feels like an age ago - I was SO surprised that most Americans seemed to use the word 'God'. I seldom used 'God' - much too formal for my relationship with Him! I would use 'Lord', and mostly 'Jesus', AND 'Father', which to me is actually a term of endearment and closeness, cos He IS my heavenly Dad like you said, and He is with me and in me right now - and always!
(But in order to 'fit in with' Americans, I slowly swapped over to mostly using 'God', tho found this SO unnatural, and not what I like at all, i.e., I totally agree with your Dad and you!)
May Abba Father bless you heaps n heaps!

I hope I didn't write this in a confusing manner I just felt that what I heard today needed to be shared so I followed where I was lead and did the best I could with God's help.
Pray for all here. No one is without feelings and problems. I lift up all those in need of prayer and ask God to bless them mightily! Amen!
I know what you mean bg. Conflict is part of life, and we know people are not perfect. I'm certainly not! I do not expect anyone else to be. I do desire for all of us to be pressing for the mark though. And for us to be patient with each other when we fall.Hehe hello shadowcat welcome back...
