I find it interesting within Christian circles that so many people have never dated. There's nothing I can think of that sets them apart. Maybe picky? No. Maybe they act as though they are the wisest on relationships even though they've never experienced one. Maybe no. I don't know. Do you have any thoughts on this?

Maybe they didn’t find the right mate. Some are very intentional in their relationships, too.

everyone can have ideals, feelings, desires, and preferences, even lonely people. we might lack experience but we have a rich and powerful delusion of how things should be

i'm too much of a mess to figure myself out but in a strange sense I feel that everything is of order.

Are there really "so many" who haven't dated? Churches certainly have plenty of married couples - a common complaint from singles is that things are sometimes focused too much on marriage/families, so clearly there are a lot of Christians who have dated. So are there actually significantly more Christians who have never dated than non-Christians who have never dated?

I think it's odd too, although I've only had one relationship so far and don't really desire another one right now as I have enough in my life going on. The only way you can find out what you want and don't want in a partner is to date. And not every relationship has to lead to marriage. Just enjoying someone's company is fine.

I have found Christian singles groups tend to have more divorced people than "never have dated" types.
