The human experience

It is quite a journey for all of us,
our inner world a cauldron of emotions,
feelings, and thoughts,

Mixed

With simply trying to be present,
to be grounded in the world,
true, not a safe place,
but one filled with wonder,
beauty, joy, and relationships.

Peppered with sorrow, pain, loss,
and endings.

There are also new beginnings,
each moment perhaps just that,
for we choose more than we know,
how we react,
or respond,
in how we treat others,
and love or hate ourselves.

We grow into freedom,
or slavery,
one choice at a time.

Grace is what allows it all to happen,
for freedom, truly fought for,
is both a blessing and a burden.

Such is the human experience.—Br.MD
