I am a popcorn fuhreek, and FYI the microwave stuff is terrible for you (lots of transfats...if not, it tastes terrible). So I have gone back to the old fashioned way, and use canola oil for popping, but I haven't been able to give up butter. WELL, I just tried the I CAN'T BELEIVE IT'S NOT BUTTER in the spray bottle on my popcorn. AND I love it! I just hope they are being truthful on their labling.

Just my healthy plug for the day.

HUFFHUFFPUFFPUFF....today we are taking down all of the Christmas decorations, and I get to drag 5 large storage crates into the crawl space. That's definitely going to be a work-out, especially if I am a good girl and put them where they belong.

NOTE TO ALL: Thanks for being my support team through the Christmas goodie season! This is the first time in 5 years that I DID NOT gain weight through it.

I love listening to Christian, country, classic rock, soft listening, pop, and classical music. There's plenty to fit any mood, it's always fun to listen to music as I clean the house, makes the time go by much faster. Mopping the floor is half dancing around. lol I'll go walking today and do some light weights tonight.

So I just put my Son's soundtrack to the movie "CARS" in our car this morning. Can't beleive how that one rocks. My Huffpuff plan today is to dance to it with him.

What songs do all of you like to dance to?

70s music. That CARS was SO cute - my granddaughters have that DVD. I liked the music, too.

Here is your own little slice of Mid-Winter HuffHuffPuffPuff wisdom for the day. I just heard a news report, that the lack of sunlight at this time of the year, (Which we all know contributes to SAD, that wanna-sleep&hibernate, feeling blue, craving bad-for-me-food, syndrom), may also be the one of the causes for the increase of illnesses at this time of the year.

Sunlight processes vitamin D in our bodies naturally. Our bodies use the vitamin D as a part of our immune system. And vitamin D is not retained for a long amount of time in our bodies.

SO, the recommendation I heard on this news report (I hope I heard it right) was: though we all need to protect our skin from too much Sun, be sure to get a few minutes of sun exposure daily, and consume vitamin D sources throughout the day (milk, yogurt, etc), to support your immune system.

Well, doesn't that just go counter to the "avoid the sun at all costs" mantra of the past few years.

Just when you think you knew what you were doing....

Yep! I'm feeling it. I combat it by not eating what I feel like eating but what is healthy. Today I had blueberries, cranberries, bananas, grains, and chicken soup with veggies for dinner. Tomorrow night is gym night (my hufffffnpuffff). If I didn't eat and exercise during this time of year, I'd probably go into hibernation. The lack of sunlight kicks my rear end.

Took my 3 year old shepherd mix to the off-leash dog park again today. Interesting how people seem to manage their dogs better than their children...

WHOOOOHOOOOO! and I get you on the dog thing. I just found 3 things that were purposefully destroyed by some not-so-well behaved kids who were in my home last week. Destroyed and hidden (meaning, they knew they did it, I had been told by 2 other kids that they did, but without the evidence, I didn't accuse. Evidence found).

I did it! I made it back to Yoga class today, and it felt sooooooo good.

I also got on the stationary bike for 15 minutes (huffhuffpuffpuff) the guy on Rachael Ray today was totally cute. And he could cook. (I have to watch TV or read when I bike, or I get just too bored).


What distractions do y'all use when you exercise?

the TV and music is on at the gym but when I walk I only want to hear the woods.

I will cautiously say i think I have really lost 5 lbs because it has stayed off for a week. I usually yo yo.

I know what you mean about phantom weight.....I can easily retain enough water to float a small boat on. I just keep telling myself that my TRUE weight is whatever the lowest number was in a month. (providing I haven't done something dumb like dehydrate myself....did that gardening last July when we were in the 100s.)
