The Honor Academy is designed to cultivate and develop the leadership potential in young adults while preparing them to impact today's world for Christ. The scope of the program is extensive and includes classroom instruction, practical hands-on experience, and life-transforming events. All are designed to give each intern at the Honor Academy a balanced, strategic approach to Godly character and lasting leadership skills.

The Campus Visit Weekend is a Friday-Saturday event that gives a prospective intern a glimpse of the spiritual growth and unique opportunities that an individual will experience while at Teen Mania's Honor Academy. Participants will have the opportunity to meet amazing staff members, experience inspiring worship services, meet and interact with current interns from all over the nation, get a scoop on the admissions process, and even stay in a dorm room with a current Honor Academy intern. We have found that this event is highly beneficial

I'll have to build funds, but I'll seriously consider this after I get out of college. I remember being at ATF and thinking "I want to do this." and so did a couple of my friends.. thanks for the info. Probably won't be able to do it though for about 2 years.. I wonder if the Lord has any surprises in store for me though. XD

ETA: They don't make your parents be involved, right? Because I doubt my parents would have anything to do with this at all.

No your parents do not have to be involved in your internship.You can go to a Campus Visit Weekend to experience what it is like in the Honor Academy for just $25 (check my last post for details).I know that the Lord has great plans for your life and he will open doors when you think that all the doors are shut.God Bless You.

In order to participate in the Honor Academy you must commit to raise financial support:

Undergraduate Internship (South)
$650/month*

This covers housing, meals, and other program-related expenses. This does not include the cost of laundry, incidentals, and personal spending money. All contributions toward your internship are tax-deductible and non-refundable.

A Global Expeditions missions experience is required prior to graduation. Additional funds will be required if you have not attended a Global Expeditions mission trip prior to attending the Honor Academy.

An Honor Academy representative will help you develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy to help you reach this goal.

(By the way interns are not allowed to have an outside job while at the Honor Academy. Life as an intern will stretch you in all areas of your life. In order to ensure that you have the time and energy needed to devote to the internship program, interns are not permitted to seek outside employment.)

INTERN LIFE OVERVIEW

-Physical Discipline-
Physical training is just one of the many ways you will learn to establish a life of discipline. The choices you make every day as a Christian will have eternal results. Physical training develops a teamwork mentality. You’ll learn to work together and push yourself beyond what you thought was possible.

-Spiritual Growth-
Experience spiritual growth through weekly worship, prayer times, and bi-weekly fasting. Growth through the Word of God is cultivated through scripture memorization, group discussions, and personal daily devotions. Weekly teachings by Honor Academy Director, David Hasz, as well as other outside speakers will build and challenge you spiritually.

-Relationships-
You will not only have the opportunity to work hard but play hard. Most weekends are free, allowing you to relax and enjoy life. Whether you are having a conversation over coffee or strumming a guitar, you will develop friendships that will last a lifetime.

-Extracurricular Activities-
In addition to the requirements of the Honor Academy, you’ll be around some of the most active people in your generation. The internship experience offers a combination of intramural sports, social activities, and day-to-day fellowship with others designed to foster deep, life-long friendships.

Endurance LTE

Life Transforming Events (LTE) usually take place over a weekend and will stretch and grow you spiritually, mentally, physically, as well as emotionally. These events will teach you how to work as a team, as an individual, and most importantly, to depend on God. From these events you will learn lessons that you can take with you for the rest of your life.

Gauntlet
The first week of the internship lays a foundation upon which you will build the entire year. Gauntlet is filled with opportunities for you to challenge and evaluate yourself as you experience the beginnings of a very exciting year. Beyond the training and orientation, Gauntlet provides the foundation for the spiritual growth and development that will take place in you at the Honor Academy.


Adventure Trips/GE Mission Trip
Throughout the year you’ll have several opportunities to put your faith into practice by sharing the life-giving message of Jesus. Let God use you as an instrument to touch lives and bring hope to those who are hopeless.


Men’s/Women’s Retreat
During this event you’ll hear from dynamic speakers who will share Biblical perspectives on how to develop godly relationships, how to overcome insecurity, and how to live a life of purity.


The Peak Challenge
You will be placed into small teams and set out early in the morning to hike to the summit of Hallett Peak in Colorado. You will be challenged physically and mentally as you trek across the continental divide on the way to the summit.


ESOAL - ESOAL (Emotionally Stretching Opportunity of a Lifetime) is an optional LTE designed to stretch you emotionally and physically. Interns routinely select ESOAL as the most popular and influential LTE. Being stretched through simple repetition allows you to confront potential problem areas in your lives that often go undetected. The Honor Academy staff works intensely with you during this LTE to ensure that you take full advantage of this unique learning opportunity.


Vision/Purpose LTE
Throughout the year you will learn how to effectively fast and pray. You will then apply this teaching during these LTE weekends in an environment where you can focus solely on God. The campus takes on a unique vibe as hundreds of interns fervently seek to hear from God, grow closer to Him, and get clarification of their life vision and purpose.


Celebration LTE
During the internship year you’ll learn, study, and partner with other interns and staff to accomplish great things. This LTE is a weekend devoted to celebrating those accomplishments.

Transitions in life are rarely simple, especially the transition from adolescence to early adulthood. A vital part of that maturation is the refinement of people’s spiritual commitment and behavior. Under your guidance, your teen has grown into a young adult. The Honor Academy can build on that foundation and provide them the opportunity to reach even greater heights.

Statistics show that 80% of young believers will stray away from their Christian faith during their college years. For one year we will pour into the life of your young adult and teach him/her essential leadership skills such as honor, integrity, and maturity; however, most importantly, we will help them understand who they are in Christ so they are better equipped to defend their faith in the world. They will learn valuable job skills and be challenged physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We value parental participation and encourage you to visit us during an Honor Academy informational event, which is beneficial for both parents and prospective interns.

The Commitment
While passion and desire get you started, it takes discipline and accountability to realize change and see accomplishment. These basic guidelines will provide a framework for growth, allowing you to focus your attention completely on God during your fist year at the Honor Academy:


The average person listens to over four hours of secular music and watches six hours of television each day. As you strive to find purpose and direction, different forms of media can become a huge distraction.

• For that reason, to protect the commitment to purity and renewing the mind, interns choose to set aside secular television and secular music, as well as refrain from watching rated R movies.

As a part of the intern family you will commit to developing and maintaining wholesome relationships with the opposite sex.

• All interns will commit to set aside romantic relationships during their undergraduate year (both on and off campus).

While maturing as a young man or woman, each intern will strive to honor God with his/her body.

• Any substance such as alcohol, drugs, cigarettes or anything that alters your ability to control your body is strictly prohibited. This includes abuse of any prescribed medications or over the counter drugs.
• All forms of inappropriate sexual behavior, which include, but are not limited to pornography, are restricted.
