  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Hebrew Hammer - Comedy Central

Greetings!

I am curious what someone who grew up in a Jewish enviroment, or is in one now thinks of the show, "THE HEBREW HAMMER."

I am curious if some of the things are offensive, or if they are taken in good humor. Personally, I can relate to the Shabbat jokes in it, they crack me up.

Either way, I do see this type of thing as being alright. Anyone who doesn't know about the Jewish Religion can at least learn a small bit about it by watching this show. Such as Friday at sunset is not a time to go to work!

So if you have seen this let me know - It's on Tonight at 8 Eastern on Comedy Central.

Peace,

I watched it the other night and I thought it was very funny, however I also thought it was very risque', and I wouldn't encourage anyone to watch it to glean information about Judaism. I am certain that it was all in fun.

I especially liked the way he wore his 3" brim hat, very progressive ^_^ .

Greetings Rabbi Cohen!

I too wouldn't recommend it, however I do see it as a bit informative.

The Friends that I have do find me strange for my food habits, and my unwilling to join them on shabbats. I tell them things like - I'll be there after the sunsets! Maybe they'll think something of it?

I thought the 'whining' test was pretty funny - Clever at least!

Peace!
