"The heart", that is, the natural heart, "is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked" (Jer.17:9). Some churches may talk about 'a change of heart' but, it is never changed. A 'new heart' must be given. The 'new heart' is not the old one changed, but newly created, i.e., "begotten by God."
