Images from the Hubble Telescope show a green blob that defies scientific understanding, so far. For those who aren't threatened by science and mystery:

From which it is safe to infer that blob will increase in size, join with its 18 fellow-blobs, and pursue its way unrelentingly in the direction of Planet Earth.

Oh well, at least it's not a giant space spider as big as the sun, hitching a lift on a dying star and journeying to Planet Earth.

"Defies scientific understanding" is a bit of a hyperbole don't you think? The thing that is interesting is that it's a group of stars forming in the intergalactic medium. We know how stars form and die. The mystery is how these stars got there.
