God won't allow you to do that, salvation is in God's/Jesus hands, not ours, that is the height of arrogance to think that ours, or another's salvation is in our hands and in our control, or up to us...

But, for arguments sake, if you could actually "chose" to forfeit your salvation (like that's in our control or up to us) But, if you could actually "chose" to forfeit your salvation to save another then that is an act of self-sacrifice, and that is one of the highest forms of the expression of Love, and Jesus will probably lay claim to that person on resurrection or judgment day...

"He who seeks to save his soul shall lose it, but he that loses his soul, for my (J.C.) sake, will find it"

We must not live clenching onto our soul, or our salvation tightly, but we must ease up on the grip and live more care-free, entrusting God and Jesus with our soul or salvation...

What movie are you referring to? What did the person in the movie supposedly "do" to save another, and yet lose or forfeit their own salvation?

Could you give me an example of a situation where a person is doing this please...?

God Bless!

Yes. As I get older, I'm practicing more of the 'forgive them even if they are not sorry'. Not always easy.
