my point being that atheism is not a requirement of evolutionThe Crusades WERE Christian... the pope started the whole deal...
(Crusader ancestor-posessing, evolution understanding Christian here)
Thats fine... I'm sure many alien abductees would die rather than say that their personal testimony was false.Let me repeat --- no one died for what they knew was false. I didn't say thought was true --- I said, knew was false.
Consider Matthew A and Matthew B. Matthew A is with a man who walked on water. Matthew B just wrote that a man walked on water for kicks, and passed it off as factual.
Now they both stand before the mighty Senate:
ROMAN: Did you write this?ROMAN: Do you stand behind what you wrote?
- Matthew A: Yes I did.
- Matthew B: Um ... ya.
ROMAN: Are you aware of the consequences of this choice?
- Matthew A: Yes I do.
- Matthew B: Um ... ya?
ROMAN: Death by beheading.
- Matthew A: Yes I am.
- Matthew B: Um ... no.
[bible]Psalm 56:11[/bible]
- Matthew A: [quotes Psalm 56:11]
- Matthew B: Um ... can't you guys take a joke?
By the way --- does that verse sound familiar? It should.
Not if you live in Australia and don't have references to God on your curency
Nor is creationism a requirement of Christianity.
No, it's not --- but again, do you know of any Christian on this forum that believes creatio ex nihilo didn't occur?
Any Christian.
Right here. But apparently you ignored that on the other thread.
Clearly you people are cunning ploys from Satan. Cease with your infernal wicked-ry!I also do not believe that everything was created from nothing.
Right here. But apparently you ignored that on the other thread.
I also do not believe that everything was created from nothing.
Interesting --- then where did matter/energy first come from?
Would you agree that God is the ultimate source of power/energy there is?
If so then that should answer your question.
Also note that the passage in the NT that speaks of everything being created by God the word translated as by actually refers to by as in the proximity to rather than method of.
As in all things were created in God and outside of God was nothing created.
Where did God come from?
Same basic question.
Well since I am not God and I wasn't there I can only speculate. All matter is made up of energy and if in the begining there was only God and God is the ultimate source of all energy then all matter came from God created out of Gods own energy.Absolutely.
Not quite --- how did God source this power into existence? Please be specific.
Isaiah disagrees ---
I don't consider something being created in the hollow of one's hand as being created "in God."
God is not matter/energy ---
[bible]John 4:24[/bible]
--- if you can't defend your position, that's fine. I'll respect what you said and consider that you're a Christian who doesn't believe that matter/energy came into existence ex nihilo and leave it at that. After all, I am on record as saying I'm sure there are some out there that don't believe it, it's just that they are a minority.
No, you specifically said there were none.
AV1611VET said:Well I'm sure they're out there somewhere; but I would say they constitute a very small minority within the Christian community.
I don't know of any Christian that disagrees with me that this universe was created ex nihilo.
