The Fall
One thought
One look
One step
One small action
And now I am struggling to get back on the right path
One drink
One puff
One line
One fix
And the pattern has taken over my life again and the needle is back in my arm
"Blessed is he who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked" (Psalm 1:1)
I wish I had heard that before I went out that night
It started with one small desire
It grew into a list of them
It became my life once again
And then I could not stop; no cry, no yell, just a subtle slip from the hand of God
I wish falling was not so easy
I wish climbing back up was not so hard
I need a rope here, Lord
I can not get out without You
Lord, please hear my cries
And bring me close to You
Accept my love and my broken heart
My plea of forgiveness to You
I want to live in Your kingdom again
I know I crossed the line
But this time I will live for You
And die to these evil desires.
I want to live the life you have called me to live
I want to glorify your name.
Thank you for your forgiveness, Dear Lord.
Thank you for your grace.
