Good Morning Everyone! Back almost 4 years ago, God revealed to me a message I brought forth at my church one Sunday morning. In making this "Method" at first all I got from God is the word "Flower". Now, a flower is a plant that takes root in the soil. Before I revealed my method of the Flower to my church, I went over the Parable of the Sower, found in Matthew 13:3-8; also verses 19-23. So the Flower method that God revealed to me is an Acrostic, that I will outline in detail for you here. Flowers are beautiful, and all are a part of God's Creation (Genesis 1:11-13). So now, Onto the FLOWER Method. I will go over each piece of the method, followed by 2 corresponding scriptures under each part. :
1. Faith – Without faith, all our hopes, all our dreams, all that we long for means nothing. But when we turn our hearts, souls, and minds over to God, He helps us keep that faith in our daily lives.
a. Faith assures us of things we expect and convinces us of the existence of things we cannot see (Hebrews 11:1)
b. Jesus answered them, “I can guarantee this truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will be able to do what I did to the fig tree. You could also say to this mountain ‘Be uprooted and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. (Matthew 21:21)
2. Love – Love is a wonderful characteristic that God has given to us. If we are to be Christ-like, we need to share His love wherever we go.
a. The person who doesn’t love, doesn’t know God, because God is love. (1 John 4:8)
b. So these things remain: faith, hope and love. But the best one of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13)
3. Obedience – In order for us to follow what God wants for our lives, we have to be obedient to what his Word says.
a. If you carefully obey me and are faithful to the terms of my promise, then out of all the nations you will be my own special possession, even though the whole world is mine. (Exodus 19:5)
b. Love the Lord your God and do what he wants you to do. Always obey his laws, rules, and commands. (Deuteronomy 11:1)
4. Worship – God loves us when we worship His name. There are many scriptures that show the people of Bible times worshiping God. And, there are many forms of Worship to God. For example We worship Him in Music, in Prayer, reading God's Word, etc.
a. Serve (Worship) the Lord cheerfully. Come into his presence with joyful song. (Psalms 100:2)
b. All the nations that you have made will bow in your presence, O Lord. They will honor you. Indeed, you are great, a worker of miracles. You alone are God. (Psalms 86:9)
5. Endure – In this life, we will have challenges that will make us endure many trials. But, once the Victory is won, our rewards are great and plentiful! Just like in the example of the farmer, it took him several tries before finding the right place to plant the seeds. Persistence is key to getting things right with God. We don’t have to be perfect. As long as we try our best, and give God our full attention, he will help us through the trial.
a. But that’s not all. We also brag when we are suffering. We know that suffering creates endurance, endurance creates character, and character creates confidence. (Romans 5:3-4)
b. Blessed are those who endure when they are tested. When they pass the test, they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. (James 1:12)
6. Repent – When we do wrong and disobey God’s rules, if we want to have his favor in our life, we MUST repent of our sins. This is a crucial step in our walk with Christ because if we have just one thing wrong that we haven’t asked forgiveness for, we will not go to heaven.
a. So change the way you think and act, and turn to God to have your sins removed. (Acts 3:19)
b. This is what the Almighty Lord, the Holy one of Israel, says: “You can be saved by returning to me. You can have rest. You can be strong by being quiet and by trusting me. But you don’t want that.”
In closing, I hope this Flower method has given you something to think about and lean on for not only this week but for all the days ahead. If you put these into practice and truly believe in your heart that you will strive to live the right way, you will be blessed beyond measure! God Bless you all!
