This is an indepth study of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
If you really want to understand the Bible then this is for you.
Jesus is the centerpiece of history.
And Jesus also is the centerpiece of the Bible.
All the people in the Old Testament look forward to the coming of the Messiah.
And everybody that lives on this side of the Lord looks back to what He did.
The Old Testament was saying that someone was coming.
The Gospels has said someone has come.
And the Epistles and Revelation is saying someone is coming again.
The Bible is divided into 3 different dispensations.
If you cannot make a distinction between these 3 dispensations, you will end up with some false teachings, and you will not understand the Word.
The Bible has to be rightly divided in order to understand it.
The Bible was written by 40 authors
On 3 continents
In 3 different languages
The Bible is inspired by God
Because man could not have written such a Book like the Bible and live by it.
* The first dispensation is the Pentateuch dispensation; where a father served at a family altar and offered up sacrifices for his family.
The oldest man in the family did this.
* The second dispensation is the Mosaic dispensation; then it begins and this is a national altar with Aaron the High Priest for the Nation Israel.
* Then the third dispensation; beginning with the death of Jesus on the cross; is the Christian dispensation. Where it is an international priesthood in the fact that Jesus is the High Priest for the whole world.
Genesis is called the seed plot of the Bible and since it is called this, it takes a little longer to look at Genesis as it does to look at the rest of the Bible.
Gen.1:1
Time In the beginning
Force God
Energy created
Space the Heavens
Matter the Earth
These are the 5 elements that Scientists dont want you to know.
Now in the beginning, everything was absolute perfect; it was wonderful and there was paradise in the Garden of Eden.
Adam was placed in the Garden of Eden to dress and keep it.
When God said, keep it, He hints at the presence of an enemy.
For the term literally means, to guard or protect from harm.
To this charge was given a 3-fold statement.
1) A permission Of every tree of the Garden thou mayest eat.
2) A prohibition But of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil thou shalt not eat of it.
3) A penalty For in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
The permission was gracious
The prohibition was clearly stated
The penalty should have deterred the bravest of men.
Read Gen. 2:16,17
She subtracted from Gods Word freely
She added to Gods Word neither touch it God did not say, not to touch it.
He said, not to eat of it
She substituted for Gods Word lest ye die.
She misstated the permission
She overstated the prohibition
She understated the penalty
Cause of sin:
1 John 2:16
For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
* She saw lust of the eye
* She ate Good for food lust of the flesh
* She believed that she would be as God pride of life
She doubted God Word, His goodness, His truthfulness, and His judgment.
So when you start doubting these things, you are going to start to disobey Him.
Then we see Eve eating the forbidden fruit and she gives to her husband Adam and he ate of the fruit and as a result they were driven out of the Garden of Eden.
Before they were driven out of the Garden of Eden, God made a promise.
Gen. 3:15
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
This is what God told the devil.
Now this is the first Messianic Prophecy.
The first prophesy that a Savior was coming into the world.
It reveals that her seed (Eves seed) is going to crush the devil.
And it is going to be a boy (his heel)
So the very first promise of the Bible indicates that the Messiah is going to be the seed of a woman. (Virgin born)
And the devil didnt understand that.
A boy baby of a woman is going to come into the world and destroy the devil.
Neither Adam nor Eve, nor even Satan caught the full significance of it.
Gal 4:4
But when the time had fully come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law,
Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, a young woman shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Romans 16:20
Then the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
Hebrew 2:14
Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same nature, that through death he might destroy him who has the power of death, that is, the devil,
After this prediction was given, they were driven from the Garden, banned from the tree of life, river of life, and the angels forbid them to enter; pain, death, sorrow, and all kinds of problems; cause they were sinners and paradise was lost.
But they believed that promise that a Savior was coming into the world.
And when their first boy was born, they called him Cain
Cain means Striker
Eve thought Cain was that promised boy and that he was going to be her Savior.
Then Eve had another boy and she called him Abel
Abel means vanity useless
Cain struck and killed his brother.
Cain was not a polytheist {there are many gods}, atheist {there is no God}, agnostic {there is no knowledge if there is a God}, nor an idolater.
He was a deist who denied the blood sacrifice and killed Abel.
Then Adam and Eve would later have another child, and they called him Seth
Seth means, substitute
Adam and Eve hoped that Seth would be the one to deliver them.
Now God told the devil; Im bringing a boy baby, born of a woman, coming into the world that is going to crush your head.
He is going to destroy you!
So the devil says: Man, Ive got to do something.
So the devil gets Cain, who was a wicked boy to kill Abel, who was a good boy because the devil feared Abel.
Cain killed Abel and here is Seth, the substitute in his place, and the descendants of Seth begin to call on the name of the Lord. (Gen. 6:1)
