I found this article interesting, in that it sums up fairly neatly, if briefly, what I sometimes think but don’t manage to express so clearly. Personally, I don’t have any ‘beef’ with science, and to put it succinctly I tend to find interpretations of the bible that approach it from the context of the original audience the most convincing, but I also find the idea that taking empiricism, strictly defined, out of the lab and using that as an approach to understanding life pretty baffling. That doesn’t seem rational to me, to me as a way of thinking it seems like a form of indoctrination through education. Interested to hear what other people think.
