I didn't mention Slayer here becuase they didn't pioneer in death metal itself, only have been an influence.

A member of Moonsorrow also plays in Barathrum, Korpiklaani and Finntroll. Other bands that sound like Moonsorrow are Ensiferum, Thyrfing and Einherjar. This is all viking metal that has some connection with Moonsorrow, if you need more, and less popular bands, just ask.
