  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Not all persons are physical beings.
There are two types of metaphysical persons:
Eternal persons. The persons of the trinity are uncreated non-temporalities.
Av-eternal persons. Angelic persons are created non-temporalities.
The commonalities between metaphysical and physical persons are:
intellect, emotion and will.
A person is a being with intellect, emotion and will.

The nature of a person is triune having intellect, emotion and will.

God's intellectual conception of humanity is eternal and therefore without begining.
Although eternally conceived in the mind of God, humanity began with the creation of Adam.
In Adam, God created one human-flesh.
From Adam, has been made all human bodies.
In Adam, God created one human-flesh.
From Adam, has been made all human souls.
Human bodies are composed of human-flesh.
Human souls are composed of human-spirit.

The nature of a human being is a psychosomtic union of human-flesh and human-spirit.

Biblical references to human-flesh refer to that which is common to all humanity.
Biblical references to human bodies refer to that which is unique to individual humans.
Biblical references to human-spirit refer to that which is common to all humanity.
Biblical references to human souls refer to that which is unique to individual humans.

One need not be a human being to be a person, and one need not be a person to be a human being. Consider a man near the end of his life. He may lose intellectual, emotional and willful capacities altogether, but he is still a psychosomtic union of human-flesh and human-spirit. As long as his body and soul are united, he is a human being. Now, consider a man near the beginning of his life, a zygote. He may not have acquired intellectual, emotional and willful capacities yet, but he is still a psychosomatic union of human-flesh and human-spirit. As long as his body and soul are united, he is a human being.

"Thou shall not murder" is condescended to human beings, concerning human beings.
Murder is the unjustified killing of a human being.
It is not necessarily the unjustified killing of a person.

Intellectual, emotional and willful deficits can depersonalize others,
but there is no intellectual, emotional or willful justification to dehumanize another.
