I think it important to point our how wily Satan has become in our modern world. It is now considered preposterous or even crazy to believe that the devil exists. It's almost like if you're remotely intelligent, you couldn't possibly believe in the devil.

Here is an excerpt from a recent interview with Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. His interviewer, Jennifer Senior of New York Magazine, was shocked by Scalia’s statements.

Scalia: "You’re looking at me as though I’m weird. My God! Are you so out of touch with most of America, most of which believes in the devil? I mean, Jesus Christ believed in the devil! It’s in the Gospels! You travel in circles that are so, so removed from mainstream America that you are appalled that anybody would believe in the devil! Most of mankind has believed in the devil, for all of history. Many more intelligent people than you or me have believed in the devil."



I've been personally attacked by demons on numerous occasions in my life (probably many more than I even know). I've even seen demons on two occasions. I am so thankful now that I am a Christian I have a way to ward off these types of attacks. While I always believed and prayed to God prior to becoming a Christian, and looked to Him for protection from demonic forces, it's just not the same as having Christ in your heart. Now I feel protected, I feel strong, and I feel that the line of communication between God and myself is open and clear.

God is Great!!!

Is Satan a individual or an entity?

And is it not so that the Destroyer mentioned in the Book of Revelations is the Lord?
Whom is the only one who can destroy souls, who will Judge humanity with his Father, and is whom who will Bring about the end of this Time?

First Satan only means Adversary or enemy in paleo Hebrew it is not nor ever been the name of some type of demon.

Any one can be "Satan" a nation of people can be called enemy and an individual person

In scripture the Most high created Evil and Good angeles evil meaning evil to You, not the Most high they love him. IF you do negative acts the Most high sends evil angels to punish you they never act out alone by themselves. That is False doctrines.

The wicked get destroyed anyone who does not follow the Most high is in Danger of getting destroyed by the Most high not Satan he controls nothing!

Most high sends evil Angels not the devil


Psalms Chapter 78

49 He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them.

now if you are correct this verse would have said that Satan sends evil not God

So once again its the Most high that controls ALL Spirits He controls the World not the devil

Interesting read and one i'm tentatively studying. Ra meaning evil has joined a zillion dots up for me. May i just ask though? Why does He call the devil the enemy then give us authority to crush 'him' if 'he's' one of Gods troops?

my buddy and his wife are new believers. recently his wife contracted brain infection but recovered mostly. And she is now epileptic. i can see the struggle they have, putting trust in God and trying to walk the way in this difficult time. Because of his wife condition, it has make it tougher for them to attend service regularly and also missing out on the bible study group. Is this a work of the destroyer? Is this punishment because of wickedness? Or this is a trial for new believers? Does God punish his children too ?

Isn't that the truth! I was laughed off a message board once (well, not exactly, but was quite derided) by saying that one of the greatest tricks of the devil is to convince the world he doesn't exist. (I think that line may actually be from a movie or something, but those are the truest words ever spoken by a human).

It is so, so very important--of the utmost importance I would say--for all Christians to recognize the power Satan has in this world. It is of course limited by God, but He has given this world over--for His own purposes--to the spirit of the air and he has done an awful wonderful job of having people all caught up in this world, in the worship of him; he feeds their egos, their desires, and makes them feel like they're quite fulfilled in this world; all the while they are blind to their enslavement to him, their bondage to him which makes them dead spiritually.

It is such a horrible, horrible thing to wake up to, after God removes the blinders from one's eyes. It can be cause for quite a depression, and I think it is one of Satan's first means of attacking a new Christian: to make them feel like their life is really much more horrible after having received the gift of faith. Either that or he tries to make them believe that they're not good enough to be called by God, that why in the world would God call someone like them? That can be of no possible good use to God.

It is so important then in such times to be diligent in searching Scripture, to lean heavily upon God, to trust Him, and to know that our heart and consciences often deceive us.

Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy.

Steal:

He comes to steal our peace by bringing anxiety and fear.

The solution:

Philippians 4:6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Whatever Satan is pointing at and telling you to worry about in your mind, admit to God that you cannot handle it under your own strength and hand it over to Him. As many times as Satan tries to put it back in your hands, hand it back to God. Repent for not trusting Him to handle it for you and for trying to do it under your own strength. Remember:

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Most fear is unhealthy and from the devil. Realize that your burdensome fears and anxieties are revealing your lack of faith and trust in God. Ask Him to help your unbelief and surrender your tomorrows to God. Be more concerned about what you can do for God today than what you are asking Him to do for you tomorrow.

Kill:

Satan comes to kill your faith in God. He will bring in doubt after doubt and try to get you distrust the bible, or to doubt Gods character.

The solution:

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

The scripture says that without faith it is impossible to please God. When you have doubts, surrender them to God and trust God to reveal the answers in His own timing, and say that even if He doesn't reveal the answer, you'll still trust Him. Approach God in faith, trusting Him and His word implicity and surrender all doubts in prayer. As the Devil tries to get you to question Gods motives, stand upon His word which says He is working all things out for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28)

Destroy:

The devil is trying to destroy your testimony for Jesus. He will tempt you with sin and try to make you a bad example to those around you.

The solution:

1 Peter 1:15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,

We are called to live holy and separated lives from the world system. We can't do that under our own strength. We need Jesus to do that:

John 15:5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

Don't love the world:

1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Love God more and hold everything you own loosely, surrendering your desires to Him. We need to submit ourselves to God to be changed, so that God can work the character of His Son into us. As we submit, the devil will flee:

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

The strategy of hell:

The devil is always working to change us back into the old man, because he can control the old man. His number one purpose in our lives is to gain control so he can use us pawns to do his will. He gains this control through strongholds he plants in our lives through sin. When we submit ourselves to the devil through sin, he gets a foothold in our minds and erects a fortress of lies and deceit to cast down Gods truth. We have to take our stand on the word of God and wage warfare against every stronghold in our lives. Before we can do that, we must repent of our sin and turn away from it completely and then we will be able to destroy those strongholds.

2 Corinthians 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds)

The most important thing to remember is that the Devil is defeated. Jesus gave us authority over him and his entire kingdom:

Luke 10:19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.

Jesus has the keys to death and hell. Through our faith we overcome the world:

1 John 5:4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

The old man has been buried with Christ and the devil is defeated. Stand on the word of God and repel every attack with the shield of faith. Submit yourself to God, resist the devil and he will flee.

Hello Gracelands how are you? To answer your question first you must understand that the word SATAN is more of a Title than the name of a Evil Being any one can be called SATAN or the Enemy. A nation of People can be called SATAN and individual can be called SATAN and in the case of Spiritual beings THE Most High can send an ENEMY to you if your negative.

for example Christ called Peter Satan because Peter unknowingly was going up against Scripture.

Matthew 16-23

22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

See peter did not want Christ to suffer but the scripture had said that he would suffer so in fact Peter was an Enemy to the TRUTH at this time.

So to give you understanding of the scripture you pulled Luke 10

Now if you read the verses 12-15

12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.
13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.
15 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.

In all of these verses what do they have in common?

All of these Chorazin! Bethsaida!Tyre and Sidon, Capernaum, are cities Ran by Rome at this time they conquered these cities yrs ago.

All of these cites are on Earth not in another dimension.

this is what the apostles said And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

This means the Spiritual Realm Christ gave them control over Spirits ALL Spirits Negative and Positive

Then he said "And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Now the Word Satan in this context is refereing to ROME and their descendants Rome was the Enemy or Satan to the Hebrews

Remeber Rome controled Tye Chorazin Bethsaida Tyre and Sidon, Capernaum, and Jerusalem. Capernaum fell violently

Rome was Evil and violent and Not civilizied at all..

This is what Christ said about Rome waich was called the Enemy or SATAN.

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

The kingdom of Heaven was Jerusalem and the Hebrews. THIS is NOT talking about Gods Realm There is NO WAR in Gods Realm HE Rules.

The ones who are taking Jerusalem by Force was Rome.

So these verses are only talking about relations to Mankind
