Matthew 6:24
No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other."
I know that's in the context of God vs money...but seems so applicable here too...

Unfortunately, any person claiming Christ can fall into legalism and only emphasize religious rules and regulations for achieving both salvation and spiritual growth.
Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules: Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!? These are all destined to perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings. Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence. Colossians 2:20-23
There are lots of pics of pretty church buildings on this thread

Sure, I like a good storyThose Christians are always making great buildings for their God. Some get it and some do not.
To keep this On Topic, does anyone know the oldest Church and has something regarding Mary after her Assumption?
Hint: it has a story regarding one of the Apostles and it still stands today.

I guess it could be said that some make and use all churches for The God above and other Gods as well.
Im not disagreeing at all brother, just agreeing and adding clarity.
forgive me for my ignorance brother, it sounds very interesting, could you provide some detail, maybe ill also look up the scripture too
According to ancient local tradition, soon after the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, Saint James was preaching the Gospel in Spain, but was disheartened because of the failure of his mission.[4] Tradition holds that on 2 January 40 AD,[3] while he was deep in prayer by the banks of the Ebro,[6] the Mother of God appeared to him and gave him a small wooden statue of herself and a column of jasper and instructed him to build a church in her honor:[4]
This place is to be my house, and this image and column shall be the title and altar of the temple that you shall build.

There is also a book of Revelation that shows John receiving the Revelation shortly after the ascension of Jesus while on Mt Tabor....
CHURCH FATHERS: Revelation of St. John
After the taking up of our Lord Jesus Christ, I John was alone upon Mount Tabor, where also He showed us His undefiled Godhead; and as I was not able to stand, I fell upon the ground, and prayed to the Lord, and said: O Lord my God, who hast deemed me worthy to be Your servant, hear my voice, and teach me about Your coming........................
How do the RCs view that other Revelation I posted? Just curiousYes, I think we all honor the Apostles. As a Catholic we honor Mary as well.
I am neither Catholic or Greek. I disagee with all and agree with all concerning this one thing:
I was Just saying that going into church doesn't make one A Christian any more than going into a McDonald's makes you a hamburger. So i hear anyways.
And also that many go to church or build a Church or even a Ministry that Can be considered a Church, i think, for selfish self righteous hypocritical reasons and to deny that would be to deny both reality and Scriptural integrity. To deny it would be to deny the Word of Our God who is the Father Of our Master, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Im not getting upity, just speaking more clearly.
And I respect you brother, so please dont take my words in the wrong way.

edit to add.....perhaps I will make a thread on the OBOB board about this.

Who are the RC's? Answer me that and maybe i can know what you mean. Radical Christians maybe? I'm really not sure brother of What an RC is.
Maybe sometimes its Good to not have a fancy Church building or maybe even any building for that matter i think.
Jesus liked the outdoors allot i hear. So did His apostles. But He gave respect to the Temple and called for its destruction also according to prophecy, He hated money changers and business men who loved money instead of worship and mercy in His fathers Temple and His temple is Found within Men not buildings , i think.
Ok thanksIt was linked from New Advent which is a good RC site and they have it under Apocrypha so that is where it belongs.
RC is Roman Catholic.
