I dont know if I agree with this. Someone could easily turn around and say your beliefs reek of sensationalism and self-delusion.

I dunno.........

Controversial opinions:

Trans* people deserve to be respected and treated as the gender they consider themselves to be. There is nothing in the Bible that says it's sinful for a person to get medical treatment that makes their lives easier, makes them feel better about themselves, and makes them more capable of serving others. There's certainly nothing in the Bible that says God cares more about what's in someone's pants than what's in someone's heart.

If the US government legalized recreational marijuana, it would improve our budget and deficit issues quite a bit. The government could bring in revenue from a tax on marijuana (like they have in my home state of Colorado) and that might possibly help the government reduce other taxes. Also, it would greatly reduce the financial strain on our prison system. Instead of putting anyone who gets caught in jail, we would only have to imprison those who use the substance very irresponsibly. (such as driving stoned.) Also, it would reduce the need for drug enforcement agencies that aren't doing a great job anyway.... and it might help solve our problems with the drug cartels and Mexico. Not to mention, that legalizing pot is in line with the idea that America is a free country.

This SHOULD go without being said, but the principal of judicial review is already established. No, it isn't spelled out in the constitution, but it has been established by 200+ years of respecting supreme court decisions. Mr. Government Professor, you just don't like recent rulings. Teaching the class that there's a reasonable case against judicial review.... is suspicious at best.

Anyone (of age, and of sound mind) who wants access to firearms and/or a concealed carry permit, should be legally allowed to have guns. No "but"s about it.

Greg Abbot...

Is not wonderful.

Neither is Bernie Sanders. Nice guy, nice civil right stance, but his financial policies are terrible.

Voting for third parties isn't a "wasted vote." It makes a statement that you are not willing to swallow lies because you think you don't have options. It makes a statement that you have options and aren't afraid to use them.

Financial aid (not loans, but the government paying tuition) should require a higher GPA than it does.... but it should also pay a larger part of a person's tuition than it does.

Clothes do not have genders. An aptitude for math is not a masculine trait. Toys do not have genders. Little girls do not have to be color coded from birth so that everyone will know to treat them like... like girls. Gender stereotypes make me mad.

I also have some opinions about girls, and about men wearing hats. Alas, those opinions are a little too controversial for this thread.

He almost sounds like the gospel message was just for him. He created and cultivated it, so he's locking it up. Not right at all.

Yeah, he's being a little weird about that. Most people want truth to be spread, not hidden.

That said... Let it go, let it go, I'm one with the wind and sky...

Lol. You both had to go there didn't you- a Peace in the Middle East discussion At least I'm not going to be the most controversial person in this thread I think you both raise valid points though. It isn't really a clear cut issue because both sides are constantly committing acts of terrorism and atrocities.

2) He would bring them back to the land before they would convert.

4) yes awesome, come look in Holland how great that is. My nephews are both addicted to pot, so was my ex and all his friends in fact half the youth of the city where he lived.

I'm sure you know we wouldn't agree on any of these, but I just found taxing prostitution funny

I'm sure politicians will be all for that when they figure out how much revenue they can generate through taxes, lol.

I must be a bit innocent when it comes to this. I didn't realize there were that many prostitutes that the government would be like, "yes! revenue!" But seriously, in a personal note, I wish the government wouldn't condone or even sponsor sinful and shameful things like prostitution. It should be banned outright.

Considering that many politicians get caught frequenting "ladies of the night," they could do themselves a favor and legalize it. I'm sure they could just write this off as a business expense and not have to pay tax on it.

- Open theism (God can't know everything) is heresy.
- Calvinists or those who have reformed leanings are not the devil.
- People in the pews need to educate themselves on what they believe doctrinally (checking it with Scripture)and why or at least should give a hoot.
-The pastor cannot do everything, be everywhere, or grow the church.
- Praying for your ministers/missionaries/leaders would be great...you should do it.

....Maybe these are some of my pet peeves more than they are controversial topics. ha ha.

I understand people not wanting to post here

they do not want their views to be seen as "fringe"

It's okay...in this mayhem you could probably post the most fringe view and no one would notice. There were so many separate rants going at once, lol.

I grew up in the hotbed of liberalism; the San Fransicko bay area. but just like having grown up as Roman Catholic, I rebelled from all the liberal indoctrination attempts foisted upon me. I wouldn't classify myself as a right winger, but I am definitely not a liberal either, more independent politically.

4. I think Pentecostalism and Charismaticism is a cancer in Christianity.

Yup. Only reason these groups are gaining popularity is because of their Prosperity/Health & Wealth message.
