I realize my contentions are non-conventional, but that doesn't mean they don't warrant consideration and can still be true. I ask your forebearance.

What could possibly be the link between the conception of Jesus in Luke chpt 1 and the "this rock" of Matt chpt 16:18?

They are both a gender specific journey of faith based on two separate yet specific promises of scripture.

Why were the men, (of Israel) looking for the Christ in the first place and what was the expectancy?

If you were a woman, what was your hope/expectancy under the old covenant?

The answer to both questions is simple; The manifestation of the Messiah in relation to the specific promise.

The men looking for the grown man, using old testament scripture to identify Him. The women living with the hope of giving birth to the infant.

The men's promise being Duet 18:18; The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me;, (Moses speaking) unto him ye shall hearken;"

The women's promise being Isa 7:14; "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."

I highly recommend reading Roms 4:16-24 here.

Faith by definition being; the substance of things hoped for.

Faith by objective being; to inherit the promise(s) of God.

The important issue isn't just understanding what I'm saying, but how does this apply to your present walk with God?

Consider this;

The Word became flesh in the womb, not Bethlehem.

God declares the end from the beginning and calls those things that be not as though they were.

What's the current promise of God to the new testament church concerning the next manifestation of the Messiah?

It's my prayer the Lord will open your understanding to the importance of where this post should go.

Thanks for reading!
