Firstly, by looking into the Book of Enoch and the OT one sees that God has controversies with the wicked rulers and principalities of this present age, who are set over this earth, and who rule from the heavenlies. They are called by many names, including but not limited to: "those who hold the earth/pillars of the earth; judges/the Dan; sons of God/elohym; principalities and powers; sons of God; Watchers; and Elohym".

The book sealed with seven seals is most likely the record of their wicked doings against God's people, which, when opened, begins their judgment, and which is that time of the tribulation of the last days which Enoch prophesied of, and called "the second consummation of sin on earth". It concludes with the complete removal of the branches above and the roots beneath, of the rulers of darkness, who were set over earth and who "hold the earth".

In Enoch's dream visions, in chapter 89, the record of the doings of the seventy [heavenly rulers] shepherds who receive the namesake people of the New Man name, to pasture in their season, commit atrocities for which they are not judged at the time they do it, but which they will be judged for, when the books recording them are opened.

Before the seventy shepherds receive the nation of Israel, divided among themselves, to rule over them for the appointed seasons, they were still shepherds/rulers/principalities/sars-princes, set over the earth, over all nations, and they are the powers behind the thrones of all nations. There are several instances when YHWH speaks to those shepherds through His prophets, warning them and prophesying things that He will settle with them, in His time, and those warnings in the OT show that He is speaking to the powers behind the thrones of the nations, because the kings who did do the things mentioned are long dead, but the rulers over them in the heavenlies are not dead, and they will be judged for what they did through the earthly rulers under their power.
They slay through men who are under their control, and they are the ones who will pay forever for what they have done, using men on earth. Men on earth will be judged for allowing themselves to be used for wickedness, and they can repent and be forgiven [like Manasseh did], but the powers using them will never be excused, and they will all receive severe judgment of their dominions and they will all be removed by those judgments from their dominions, at that time of judgment, when the seals are broken that kept their deeds from being openly judged. They are "the branches above" who will fall.

Okay, so this brings me to a sign in the heavens and a prophesy, in the real book of Jasher, concerning Abraham and Nimrod, and the statement in Ezekiel 38 which YHWH makes against Gog, when He said He had spoken in old time about Gog coming against Israel: -but when?
"Thus saith the Lord GOD; [Art] thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days [many] years that I would bring thee against them?"
The Hebrew wording of that passage will be used when I come back, and the sign and prophesy in Jasher against Nimrod, as the people ruled by that heavenly ruler, and Abraham's seed, Israel, as the nation of Israel [whose heavenly ruler is Michael]. Michael is set over Israel, and the final war is to rage over the globe, but is a war of rulers in the heavenlies who will be dethroned when they come against Israel, above and below, with the unholy and the holy powers above and men and demons below, battling it out, over Israel, "Abraham's seed".

I have to go before I show the heavenly sign and the prophesy in Jasher, because hubby is returning home within an hour or so from a seventeen day motor bike trip across the nation and back, which he took with a son-in-law and a neighbor. Hooray! He's almost home! But I wanted to begin this thought and thread, for anyone interested, to "chew" on,w hile I'm gone.
I'm sorry to leave you at this point, but do research the controversies for yourself before I come back, which God will settle with the rulers and principalities at the Tribulation, and see the pattern of earthly rulers being under the influence and power of heavenly rulers, whether good or bad, and the controversy to be one age old controversy which is yet to be settled and will be settled.
Daniel 2,4, and 10 is a place to start. In Psalm 82 the judges are the Elohym, the sons of God in the heavenlies who are warned they will "die like the one prince/sar/Adam" for not doing justice on earth.

This is the most anti-biblical rubberish I have ever seen. I have never heard of the book of Jasher. Besides that, the war with Gog and Magog occurs a thousand years from now, and has nothing to do with today's events. This is the most unbiblical garbage I have ever seen. It is not even in the Apocrypha. Pure garbage.

The history of the world is told in totemic imagery by Enoch. The warfare between Nimrod and his seed, together with all the Gentiles, against Abram and his seed, is told in those visions. The election of Abram is related in chapter 93

A paste of a whole chapter from the "Correct/Upright Record/ the Book of Jasher" which tells the oracle of the sign in the heavens, when Abram was born, is part of the story of learning what is "Gog" spoken of by YHWH "through His prophets from of old", as He said in Ezekiel:

Well then you have yet to read the Old Testament as it is mentioned twice...

Joshua 10:13 (KJV)
And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

2 Samuel 1:18 (KJV)
(Also he bade them teach the children of Judah the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher.)

Gog and magog is a prophesy that was fulfilled during the time of the maccabees. It's hard to decipher as it is written in apocalyptic language.

Next, the dream vision Nimrod had while sitting on his throne, and the interpretation of it -but background first.
In chapter 8, Abram is in the cave being provided for, with his mother, until he is ten years old -they have fancy caves in that area of the world which can be made very comfortable for dwelling in, and hiding in.
And the Lord was with Abram in the cave and he grew up, and Abram was in the cave ten years, and the king and his princes, soothsayers and sages, thought that the king had killed Abram
.
Then, chapter 9:
A side issue on this chapter is that Sarai was the daughter of Haran, the brother of Abraham, and Lot and Melchi were her siblings. In the Hebrew of Genesis, she is called "Iscah", the same is Sarah. In Jubilees they do not know that, but other Jewish writings know that, because Jasher states it is so and tells the entire story of Sarai and Lot and Melchi, children of Haran, brother of Abraham and .
It is Jasher that details the family, as it details so much of the history, only redacted from the writings of the patriarchs themselves; but Genesis and all that Moses wrote in the Torah, and Judges author himself, assumes all reading it will also read Jasher, for "behold, was it not written in the Correct/Upright Record -Book of Jasher!
Continued -post is too long.

Now on to Abraham, from Jasher:
In chapter 9, Abram is in the house of Noah and Shem, learning the ways of the LORD [and reading Enoch]. During that time, Nimrod & Co built the tower and it was destroyed. Abraham came out from Noah and Shem's house, back to his father's house.

They were building the tower for forty years, and that began just before Abram went to live with Noah and Shem [2 years?] and ended just before he came out of their house [2 years].
Continued -too long.

And when the king heard their words his heart fainted and he would not believe them; so he sent other faithful princes to see this matter, and they went and saw it and told it to the king; and the king rose to go and see it, and he saw Abram walking to and fro in the midst of the fire, and he saw Haran's body burned, and the king wondered greatly.
And the king ordered Abram to be taken out from the fire; and his servants approached to take him out and they could not, for the fire was round about and the flame ascending toward them from the furnace.
And the king's servants fled from it, and the king rebuked them, saying, Make haste and bring Abram out of the fire that you shall not die.
And the servants of the king again approached to bring Abram out, and the flames came upon them and burned their faces so that eight of them died.
And when the king saw that his servants could not approach the fire lest they should be burned, the king called to Abram, O servant of the God who is in heaven, go forth from amidst the fire and come hither before me; and Abram hearkened to the voice of the king, and he went forth from the fire and came and stood before the king.

And when Abram came out the king and all his servants saw Abram coming before the king, with his lower garments upon him, for they were not burned, but the cord with which he was bound was burned.
And the king said to Abram, How is it that thou wast not burned in the fire?

And Abram said to the king, The God of heaven and earth in whom I trust and who has all in his power, he delivered me from the fire into which thou didst cast me.
And Haran the brother of Abram was burned to ashes, and they sought for his body, and they found it consumed.
And Haran was eighty-two years old when he died in the fire of Casdim. And the king, princes, and inhabitants of the land, seeing that Abram was delivered from the fire, they came and bowed down to Abram.
And Abram said to them, Do not bow down to me, but bow down to the God of the world who made you, and serve him, and go in his ways for it is he who delivered me from out of this fire, and it is he who created the souls and spirits of all men, and formed man in his mother's womb, and brought him forth into the world, and it is he who will deliver those who trust in him from all pain.

And this thing seemed very wonderful in the eyes of the king and princes, that Abram was saved from the fire and that Haran was burned; and the king gave Abram many presents and he gave him his two head servants from the king's house; the name of one was Oni and the name of the other was Eliezer.
And all the kings, princes and servants gave Abram many gifts of silver and gold and pearl, and the king and his princes sent him away, and he went in peace.
And Abram went forth from the king in peace, and many of the king's servants followed him, and about three hundred men joined him.
And Abram returned on that day and went to his father's house, he and the men that followed him, and Abram served the Lord his God all the days of his life, and he walked in his ways and followed his law.
And from that day forward Abram inclined the hearts of the sons of men to serve the Lord.
And at that time Nahor and Abram took unto themselves wives, the daughters of their brother Haran; the wife of Nahor was Milca and the name of Abram's wife was Sarai. And Sarai, wife of Abram, was barren; she had no offspring in those days
And at the expiration of two years from Abram's going out of the fire, that is in the fifty-second year of his life, behold king Nimrod sat in Babel upon the throne, and the king fell asleep and dreamed that he was standing with his troops and hosts in a valley opposite the king's furnace.
And he lifted up his eyes and saw a man in the likeness of Abram coming forth from the furnace, and that he came and stood before the king with his drawn sword, and then sprang to the king with his sword, when the king fled from the man, for he was afraid; and while he was running, the man threw an egg upon the king's head, and the egg became a great river.
And the king dreamed that all his troops sank in that river and died, and the king took flight with three men who were before him and he escaped.
And the king looked at these men and they were clothed in princely dresses as the garments of kings, and had the appearance and majesty of kings.
And while they were running, the river again turned to an egg before the king, and there came forth from the egg a young bird which came before the king, and flew at his head and plucked out the king's eye.
And the king was grieved at the sight, and he awoke out of his sleep and his spirit was agitated; and he felt a great terror.

And in the morning the king rose from his couch in fear, and he ordered all the wise men and magicians to come before him, when the king related his dream to them.

And a wise servant of the king, whose name was Anuki, answered the king, saying, This is nothing else but the evil of Abram and his seed which will spring up against my Lord and king in the latter days.

And behold the day will come when Abram and his seed and the children of his household will war with my king, and they will smite all the king's hosts and his troops.

And as to what thou hast said concerning three men which thou didst see like unto thyself, and which did escape, this means that only thou wilt escape with three kings from the kings of the earth who will be with thee in battle.

And that which thou sawest of the river which turned to an egg as at first, and the young bird plucking out thine eye, this means nothing else but the seed of Abram which will slay the king in latter days.

This is my king's dream, and this is its interpretation, and the dream is true, and the interpretation which thy servant has given thee is right.

Now therefore my king, surely thou knowest that it is now fifty-two years since thy sages saw this at the birth of Abram, and if my king will suffer Abram to live in the earth it will be to the injury of my lord and king, for all the days that Abram liveth neither thou nor thy kingdom will be established, for this was known formerly at his birth; and why will not my king slay him, that his evil may be kept from thee in latter days?

And Nimrod hearkened to the voice of Anuki, and he sent some of his servants in secret to go and seize Abram, and bring him before the king to suffer death.

And Eliezer, Abram's servant whom the king had given him, was at that time in the presence of the king, and he heard what Anuki had advised the king, and what the king had said to cause Abram's death.
And Eliezer said to Abram, Hasten, rise up and save thy soul, that thou mayest not die through the hands of the king, for thus did he see in a dream concerning thee, and thus did Anuki interpret it, and thus also did Anuki advise the king concerning thee.

And Abram hearkened to the voice of Eliezer, and Abram hastened and ran for safety to the house of Noah and his son Shem, and he concealed himself there and found a place of safety; and the king's servants came to Abram's house to seek him, but they could not find him, and they searched through out the country and he was not to be found, and they went and searched in every direction and he was not to be met with.
And when the king's servants could not find Abram they returned to the king, but the king's anger against Abram was stilled, as they did not find him, and the king drove from his mind this matter concerning Abram.
And Abram was concealed in Noah's house for one month, until the king had forgotten this matter, but Abram was still afraid of the king; and Terah came to see Abram his son secretly in the house of Noah, and Terah was very great in the eyes of the king.
And Abram said to his father, Dost thou not know that the king thinketh to slay me, and to annihilate my name from the earth by the advice of his wicked counsellors?

Now whom hast thou here and what hast thou in this land? Arise, let us go together to the land of Canaan, that we may be delivered from his hand, lest thou perish also through him in the latter days.
Dost thou not know or hast thou not heard, that it is not through love that Nimrod giveth thee all this honor, but it is only for his benefit that he bestoweth all this good upon thee?
And if he do unto thee greater good than this, surely these are only vanities of the world, for wealth and riches cannot avail in the day of wrath and anger.
Now therefore hearken to my voice, and let us arise and go to the land of Canaan, out of the reach of injury from Nimrod; and serve thou the Lord who created thee in the earth and it will be well with thee; and cast away all the vain things which thou pursuest.

And Abram ceased to speak, when Noah and his son Shem answered Terah, saying, True is the word which Abram hath said unto thee.
And Terah hearkened to the voice of his son Abram, and Terah did all that Abram said, for this was from the Lord, that the king should not cause Abram's death. [/quote]

So, the dream vision of Nimrod is partially fulfilled in that Abraham defeated Nimrod and three kings with him, in Genesis 14.

Nimrod was Amraphael, as Jasher teaches us, and he escaped from Abraham with three kings, but the prophecy is not totally fulfilled in that it was not Abraham's seed who routed the kings, but Abraham's "house born and trained for war, servants".

So there is a fuller and complete fulfillment of that dream vision Nimrod saw, which will be fulfilled, in "the latter days", long after Nimrod and Abraham are deceased, but their offspring are those who take up the parts of fulfilling the vision.

In chapter 27 Book of Jasher 27 Esau killed Nimrod, fulfilling the part of vision where the seed of Abraham killed Nimrod.
That may also have a fuller, dual fulfillment, as so many of the "Words of Wisdom" do-
Job 11:6 And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that [they are] double to that which is!

After this, we can go on to the times God says that He has already said, by His prophets of old and of Israel, that Gog would come against Israel in the last days; therefore identifying "Gog", from the beginning of the conflict against Abraham and his seed, which began with Nimrod, who ruled the nations at the time of Babel's rebellion, and culminates with the final invasion of Israel, and the destruction of "Gog" and his armies.

someone else has done some work on linking Nimrod with Gog
The Scriptures Show Antichrist To Be the ASSYRIAN Gog
I do not neccessarily agree with all that he concludes on all subjects, but he has worked to place the proper Scriptures side by side on Gog, the Assyrian, Nimrod [the spirit behind Nimrod].

Now, in the Bible and in Jasher, Nimrod may be dead, but the spirit behind Nimrod lives on, and Abraham is departed the world, but the Spirit behind Abraham is alive and well.
These two spirits, one holy and the other unholy, will have an end times clash; the results are prophesied and signed and oracled from the beginning.

Gog is Nimrod, the Assyrian king, and the ruler in the heavenlies who inspired Nimrod in his rebellions against YHWH is called Gog, and an Assyrian who is in the place of Nimrod will rise and come against Israel in the last days, and he will fall.
So, bring it on!

In Scripture, Judah is dead, but Judah lives, as the personified spirit of the tribe, and Israel in the same manner, as all the tribes of Israel are.
Rachel weeps, in Scripture, but Rachel is dead. Rachel is the personification of the land where Rachel was buried.
Nimrod is dead, but Nimrod, as Gog, is the personification of the Assyrian King who lives at the time of the last battle.

By the way, I do not believe the mark of the beast is world wide, and I do not believe that the USA will play any significant part of the end times in the middle east. I do believe the wrath of God is worldwide, and is upon all the rulers of darkness who rule in heavenly places and upon their dominions below, on earth, and that the wars of the tribulation times will span the globe, but the man of sin is not a one world ruler, as Nebuchadnezzar was, in his day, who was depicted in his vision as the "head of gold".
Nebuchadnezzar's dream vision was from the Holy Spirit, and there was never a head of gold -one world ruler- after Nebuchadnezzar, only feet and toes of iron and clay, in the end times, when Jesus destroys them and sets up His kingdom.

Dan 2:41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.

I once thought that as descendants of "Chittim" the western nations would be significant in the end times scenes, but no longer do I think that is so -besides, we are now almost a minority of "Chittim" descendants in the USA [and I am mixed tribal heritage, myself, anyway].
After reading JAsher, Chittim is Italy, and Italy sends ships to discourage the Assyrian in the last days.
We have a lot of world positioning to get to before the man of sin can even be close to coming into power.

Meantime, I do not believe the USA is in existence anymore, as it was in the beginning, and is destroyed from within, already, with no longer any hope for reviving, as I did hope at one time.

We who are believers live as strangers in a strange dominion, and must count nothing of value but to know God, and to make Him known; for these are perilous times, and nothing is worth anything but knowing God and to make Him known.

Wow, that is really fascinating.

I have long thought the Assyrian, which Biblewriter speaks of, is Gog.

I have long thought that gog is a spiritual power in control of the nations listed in Ezekiel 38 and Psalm 83.

I also agree that the anti-christ is bigger than a man but we do know that it is "given a mouth", a representative, to speak the boastful words.

The coming wrath, as you said, will be global but I tend to agree that the primary influence of the anti-christ will be middle-eastern in nature...specifically surrounding Israel. What impact that has on the rest of the nations...well, I just had a scripture come to mind...Rev 16 - the devil, anti-christ, false prophet have evil spirits that come out of them to deceive other nations to bring their armies to Israel for a final battle against Christ. Therefore, the anti-christ may influence other nations, but maybe not have them in full subjection.

It does seem that while the anti-christ may lead the globe, his main power will be in the middle east.

The fact that Obama is doing everything he can to uplift Islam in the world and against Israel, including reassigning NASA to muslim relations, is very telling about where we're headed as the gog destruction in Israel comes toward fulfillment, especially when we identify those nations in Ezekiel 38 and Psalm 83 as having one common denominator - Islam.

Therefore gog will be Islamic but the anti-christ will be the much more dangerous socialistic/communistic "new world order" of the "synagogue of satan", controlling everything from Israel and the middle east.

As I said before: So biblically, there will never a one world ruler -a "king of the kings" of the earth since Nebuchadnezzar, until Jesus Christ sets up His kingdom on earth.

But the man of sin cannot be an Islamic, as he allows idol worship and sets up an idol of himself to be worshipped in the next temple in Jerusalem. That is not Islamic in any manner, and the Islamics always destroy all idols and images when they take over a nation -except the idol they make of the rock at Mecca, of course.
I maintain that the man of sin is a Hindu, who comes to believe that he is the incarnation of the Hindu deity that is the anti-YHWH trinity of Hinduism.
Hinduism will be revived, and idolatry and worship of the host of heaven will fill the earth [as Enoch said it would, because of the change in the heavens during that day of tribulation, which Enoch the prophet was the first to write prophetically, about], and they will all be destroyed when Jesus returns, but not destroyed by the man of sin, who encourages idol worship and so is no Islamic.
Islam will be nothing after Psalm 83 is fulfilled; and there will be no mosque in Israel after Psalm 83 is fulfilled; and the borders of Israel will be returned to what God promised Abraham; when Psalm 83 is fulfilled.

None of this can even begin to be fulfilled until Israel has their land borders back after Psalm 83 is fulfilled, so that the stage for Ezekiel 38's invasion of Israel can be set. -How long will that be before that can happen? Who knows? as there are no signs for the rapture of the Church, which must come before the man of sin can even be revealed; and that can come at any moment -just as death can, to any person. So we are to live our lives godly, soberly, watching and praying always, continously, so that we may be counted worthy to escape all the things coming in that time of tribulation on all the earth, and to stand before the Son of Man in heaven's temple, as consecrated priests, born again in Spirit and in body of flesh, the adopted sons of the Firstborn of earth.

I agree that the anti-christ will not be islamic. I believe the gog invaders are mainly Islamic.

Gog is not the anti-christ. When gog is destroyed, Israel (not believing Israel but secular, unbelieving Israel) will accept the one who comes after gog's destruction...accepting his lying wonders- the same wonders God uses to destroy gog.

Ezek 38:21 I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Sovereign LORD. Every man's sword will be against his brother. 22 I will execute judgment upon him with plague and bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him.

God destroys gog with fire, hail and blood. Scriptures say that everyone will know that God destroyed gog.

THEN, the anti-christ steps up. A lying wonder of the devil revealed:

Rev 13:13And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men.

Israel doesn't have John's vision in their Scriptures. They don't know what happens after gog is destroyed. They are deceived by a false messiah/false prophet, the anti-christ whom Revelation describes as the "mouth" that is given to the beast.

Gog invades at the time of the sun/moon darkening/stars falling - see Joel 2. That same moment is described by Jesus in Matt 24 and it's also found as the 6th seal of Rev 6.

Gog's destruction by fire, hail and blood immediately follows the sun/moon darkening/stars falling of the 6th seal and is described in trumpet #1 of the 7th seal:

Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to sound them.
Rev8:7The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down upon the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.

After gog, God allows the anti-christ to come to power almost immediately - within 75 days (the devil has 1260 days but Daniel 12 mentions 1335 days, therefore a 75 day gap from the sun/moon darkening/stars falling to the devil being given a key)
