  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How do dispensationalists interpret such passages as...

Acts 3:24 ' Yes, and all the prophets from Samuel and those who follow, as many as have spoken, have also fortold these days '.

Acts 26:6 ' And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers.
To this promise our twelve tribes, earnestly serving God night and day, hope to attain. For this hopes sake, king Agrippa, I am being accused by the Jews '.

Remember what he was accused of (Acts 22:21-22, Acts 24:5 )

In the light of these ( and many other scriptures ) it seems very hard to believe that the church was 'hidden' from the Old Testament Church.

Read the context:

3:19 Repent therefore and be converted, for the blotting out of your sins, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
3:20 and he may send Jesus Christ, who was foreordained for you,
3:21 whom heaven indeed must receive till the times of the restoring of all things, of which God has spoken by the mouth of his holy prophets since time began. 3:22 Moses indeed said, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up to you out of your brethren like me: him shall ye hear in everything whatsoever he shall say to you. 3:23 And it shall be that whatsoever soul shall not hear that prophet shall be destroyed from among the people. 3:24 And indeed all the prophets from Samuel and those in succession after him, as many as have spoken, have announced also these days.

So, the days that were announced, refer to the times of refreshing and of restoring all things.

Acts 26:6 ' And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers.
To this promise our twelve tribes, earnestly serving God night and day, hope to attain. For this hopes sake, king Agrippa, I am being accused by the Jews [/QUOTE]

You can see what Paul was accused of in Acts 23:6 for example:

"I am judged concerning the hope and resurrection of the dead. "

Why you link this to a supposed Church in the OT, I do not understand.

Please , take the time to read the threads here about the three churches mentioned in scripture. Just because the word "church" is used doesnt mean it applies to WE the Body of Christ. There was a church in the wilderness...and it wasnt the Body of Christ either. The church of God in times PAST consisted of those who actually believed that Jesus was the promised Messiah and King of PROPHECY. That is the church that was added to in Acts 2...it already existed and nothing new took place.

The Church, which is His body didnt begin until Acts 9 when Paul was saved and given the title by God of being the apostle to the Gentiles. One church phased OUT, and another phased IN.

We are not a part of the Kingdom Church of Peters day. Never were, never will be. Until you agree with God on the plan HE SET FORTH, you will be nothing but confused and hatefully arguing with HIM..not us , but HIM.

It has already been answered here in another thread. I dont have time to type it again. So , if you really want an answer to your question, in detail and with scripture...please look for the threads entitled Three mentions of church in the bible, and then there are threads titled Church Nbr ONE, Church Nbr Two and Church Nbr three.

Good question, and the answer is there.
