I find this logic to be dangerous because if you had lived during The Lord's mortal life and had an opportunity to meet Him - you would have rejected Him if you decided to remain consistent in this belief.I watched the Chosen but stopped because the show has things that are not in the Bible, and then I get them mixed up with the things that are in the Bible, which is dangerous. Bible alone is sufficient.
I do not believe this is true.It is a Mormon funded show. That's all I have to say.
The Lord Jesus Christ was just as much Man as God.I think you can chalk this up to "another Jesus" that they are presenting in this series.
I believe that the connection is that certain scenes were shot in a set owned by the LDS Church.I've just watched clips, and liked what I saw. Initially I expected the worse from a TV show about Jesus. I'd be interested in hearing complaints about how they've seriously mischaracterized Jesus and the Gospel and in what way. Rather then what I've been hearing which has been that LDS is somehow involved. Or a that a single line from the whole show (Jesus saying "I am the law of Moses") is close to a line out of the book of Mormon. And nitpicking of that sort.
What is "Mormon propaganda"?It might be Mormon propaganda.
I don't have any belief regarding it. I just heard the complaint.I believe that the connection is that certain scenes were shot in a set owned by the LDS Church.
Which lines from the Book of Mormon do you believe this is resembling? Is it this one?
It's "Behold, I am the law, and the light. Look unto me, and endure to the end, and ye shall live; for unto him that endureth to the end will I give eternal life." 3 Nephi 15:9"Behold, my soul delighteth in proving unto my people the truth of the coming of Christ; for, for this end hath the law of Moses been given; and all things which have been given of God from the beginning of the world, unto man, are the typifying of him." (2 Nephi 11:4)
Well, I detect a Mormon bias here, so no comment. God bless though.I do not believe this is true.
I believe the only direct connection the LDS Church has with the show is that they used the Jerusalem set owned by the LDS Church to shoot some scenes.
It is the first production to be filmed at that set that was not affiliated with the LDS Church.
By the way - we prefer to be called Latter-day Saints - or LDS for short.
Both the LDS Church and those making the show claim that there is no connection outside of what I shared.Well, I detect a Mormon bias here, so no comment. God bless though.
Ok, I will use LDS from now on in conversations with you. Both the LDS Church and those making the show claim that there is no connection outside of what I shared.
That is independent of me and my bias. We all have biases. That does not mean that people cannot share facts free of bias.
And I consider it rude to say "Mormon" again immediately after I shared that we prefer to be called Latter-day Saint or LDS.
I also prefer to feast on His Word - although I have seen some pleasing depictions of Him from time to time.Ok, I will use LDS from now on in conversations with you.But yes, I prefer seeing Jesus in the pages of a Bible, and not on a TV screen, unless Jesus returns in the end times in my lifespan, and the BBC News caught Him on video. Then, I would be glued to the screen.
I am afraid that wokeness would get into it also. Hollywoke is a real thing sadly in 2024. So far, from what others have said on the internet, the show is not woke, yet. The Chosen plans more seasons though, as a new season (S5) is expected to release in 2025. Looking at the pattern of TV, shows have gotten progressively more woke over the past 5 years, especially over the past two years it seems. Looks like 2025 will be even more woke.I also prefer to feast on His Word - although I have seen some pleasing depictions of Him from time to time.
I have yet to watch any of the Chosen because I assume that wokeness would invade it.
It would be torturous to watch because I'd be wondering the whole time, "Ok. Which one are they going to make gay?"
I believe that God allows us our crutches for a time until He requires us to rely fully on Him.I am afraid that wokeness would get into it also. Hollywoke is a real thing sadly in 2024. That is true. God might use an imperfect show to bring people to a perfect Bible.I believe that God allows us our crutches for a time until He requires us to rely fully on Him.
Perhaps those who only consume information via television will eventually come to a knowledge of the truth - first through this show then eventually relying more and more on Him - up until they are able to walk with Him freely.
Something pushing their take on the Bible and their other Bible. I remember another scene where Mary Mag’s demon was given a specific name which was connected with some alternate interpretation of the Adam and Eve story from Jewish myth involving that demon. Wasn’t mainstream Christianity. I can’t point to the episode but maybe someone else remembers? What is "Mormon propaganda"?
Yikes. That is true. God might use an imperfect show to bring people to a perfect Bible.
However, look at this thing. See the rainbow? That's not Noah's rainbow, it is a pride flag.

My mother had called to inform me about some Mormon Tv Cable Channel airing it. So the connection may be deeper. Sorry I didn’t read the whole thread andBoth the LDS Church and those making the show claim that there is no connection outside of what I shared.

Yikes on trikes is right. What happens if this stuff gets into the show in the future?Yikes.
Then you would mean "Mormon interpretation" - not propaganda. And they only believe in the one Bible.Something pushing their take on the Bible and their other Bible.
The LDS Church isn't into demons or Jewish myths that I know of.I remember another scene where Mary Mag’s demon was given a specific name which was connected with some alternate interpretation of the Adam and Eve story from Jewish myth involving that demon. Wasn’t mainstream Christianity. I can’t point to the episode but maybe someone else remembers?
