Amen, finally, someone speaking the truth.I watched the Chosen but stopped because the show has things that are not in the Bible, and then I get them mixed up with the things that are in the Bible, which is dangerous. Bible alone is sufficient.
Reminds me of anime, where many episodes have filler, just to keep folks entertained or wait for the manga to catch up. Glad I try to stay away from anime with a lot of filler. The only close to accurate productions are going to those in which the entire thing is taken strictly from scripture like The Gospel of John (2003) and similar. These movies containing the entirety of one of the four gospels are only about 3 hours long. So obviously a series of 33 episodes is going to need a lot of filler not found in scripture. Jesus of Nazareth (1977) a 4 episode miniseries had filler too. Including a major extrabiblical character named Zerah who was connected to the Sanhedrin in some way.
He is not aloof; if that is what you mean. Yes, he laughs, jokes, smiles and expresses sorrow and frustration. he also knows things no one else could know. He also heals the sick and lame, walks on water, feeds thousands with a few loaves. It seems pretty balanced to me.True, but the show overemphasizes the human part, more so compared to the God part, from what I have heard.
It got me to look at the Gospels more closely. Looking at them in parallel, their sequences and locations. Yes, it can be confusing discerning Gospel from fiction. Even after all these years, now I get the whole Jewish resistance a little better. I am especially liking the dynamics among the Pharisees.I watched the Chosen but stopped because the show has things that are not in the Bible, and then I get them mixed up with the things that are in the Bible, which is dangerous. True, but please be careful my friend. He is not aloof; if that is what you mean. Yes, he laughs, jokes, smiles and expresses sorrow and frustration. he also knows things no one else could know. I would kind of like to see "The Passion of the Christ" again as well as "Jesus of Nazareth" and compare their portrayals.True, but please be careful my friend.
I have to tell you something: A few weeks ago, I was watching Mark Driscoll. He seemed okay, but then I asked my mom about him, and she told me that Mark Driscoll has been running his Mars Hill church like a cult, and that most televised preachers are not to be trusted as much. The more money poured into television, the more likely a church or show is to be corrupted.
In sum: Please be careful, God does not want us to be of this world. He wants us to live a holy life, as much as we can. Now, I am not perfect either, and have my own struggles.
Guys, Angel Studios (the production company) for the Chosen is run by the LDS. Now, you guys can watch The Chosen, but this is kinda fishy, if you ask me.

I would like to do that also, as I have not watched those ones. The Passion of the Christ is high quality, from what I have heard.I would kind of like to see "The Passion of the Christ" again as well as "Jesus of Nazareth" and compare their portrayals.
I should try that one out.Whatever the case may be, there's always my other favorite standby, Jesus of Nazareth from 1977. I think it was produced by Catholics.
But it is limited to only the Passion if I recall. Not sure if it has the Last Supper. Still, I would like to see it again. It came out 20 years ago.I would like to do that also, as I have not watched those ones. The Passion of the Christ is high quality, from what I have heard.
Yep, 2004 is 20 years ago, and 1977 is 47 years ago. Time flies, brother. But it is limited to only the Passion if I recall. Not sure if it has the Last Supper. Still, I would like to see it again. It came out 20 years ago.
Jesus of Nazareth was 1977! Wow! Seems to me like just a few years ago.
Thank you. I will watch it on DVD though. Here you go:
I just got a call from my mother telling me the Chosen is airing on someIt is a Mormon funded show. That's all I have to say.
What are you trying to say? That is is good, or that The Chosen played a trick on you, in a bad way.I just got a call from my mother telling me the Chosen is airing on some
Tv channel called “the Mormon Channel’ I watched it elsewhere and liked and was inspired by it
And wasn’t aware it was Mormon.
Pretty Clever
I am glad that we both agree on that. It is best to stay away from The Chosen. It might be Mormon propaganda.
