  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Um...this is so old.

I know it's old, I was just wondering what everybody else thought. Plus, I couldn't think of anything else to post. Personally, I think the chicken came first, although I guess God could have made the egg first. I don't think he did though.

The chicken of the egg, which came first?

neither one. There was a pre-chicken type creature... before that was another and another and another. At some point you have life or no life.

It's really not such a difficult concept.

Ah herein lies the rub! Are we talking about the chicken and the "egg" or the chicken and the "chicken egg"?

I suppose it would have been possible maybe for some random animal to lay an egg before the chicken was created...

Still going with the chicken tho...

Fish, amphibians and reptiles were laying eggs before there ever were birds. Draw some arbitrary line between the first chicken and its immediate ancestor, and that ancestor laid an egg that hatched into a chicken.

If God was going to create chickens ex nihilo, why not just put a KFC in the garden of Eden?

Educated people.

Evolution is the change in the genetic composition of a population during successive generations, as a result of natural selection acting on the genetic variation among individuals, and resulting in the development of new species.

In other words, Species A eventually evolves into Species B and Species C.

But Species A had to come from somewhere. Evolution is the change, not the creation, of a species.
