Hey ironford,

I think that this study Bible actually is the New American translation; that may explain everyone trying to talk about the NAB. One thing I can tell you about this Bible is that it does not crop up on the list of distinguished Catholic study Bibles and commentaries. It does take a rather liberal slant on things and has a few dodgy footnotes. In places, it describes angels as personifications of natural forces. There are some awesome studies and commentaries out there. Just drop me a line if you're interested.

im just looking for something very easy to follow right now, then in a few years i'll look into the more advanced stuff

Personally, I think any you Bible you actually read is a good one. I have translations I prefer, and others have the translations they prefer. I wouldn't even worry about the commentary-use the Bible you have (or buy a nice and cheap one you can write all in. Get you a Catechism (a full size one) and use the appendices to further your exegesis.
