The other cool things I found there:

From the FAQ:

4. May I use photos from The Brick Testament for my website / publication / Sunday School class, etc.?

All photos from The Brick Testament are the copyright of The Rev. Brendan Powell Smith and may not be republished without express permission. Rev. Smith is usually happy to grant permission for images from Brick Testament to be used for any off-line, strictly non-commercial purposes, but asks that you please do write him first to seek permission.

For linking to The Brick Testament from a personal website or blog, the use of thumbnail versions of images from this site to accompany such links is entirely permissible, but Rev. Smith asks that please host such thumbnails yourself if possible.

and

9. Is he really a reverend?

Most ministers, priests, or other religious clerics would not actually use "The Reverend" before their own names, for to do so would be presumptuous and rather vain. The Rev. Brendan Powell Smith is not an ordained member of any earthly church, and is widely regarded as being both highly presumptuous and extremely vain.

Some of them are clever, and some are utterly disgusting, Things like the seduction of Lot are uncomfortable enough just to read, I don't really think we need to see them acted out in LEGO format.

Yeah,.. It struck me as funny too,.. At first,.. but the guy's an atheist and seems intent on showing the truth about the Bible which is that Christianity is a stupid religion basing itself on the Bible. At least he is quoted saying so in a dutch News Paper.

That's what I get for picking and choosing from the site. Thanks for the heads up.

Perhaps it's just my twisted sense of humor, but I kinda find lego incest funny.

That's just it,.. How could it not be funny;) Kinda reminds of Team America; worldpolice by the makers of South Park.

But still,.. its intention is not,.. uhm,.. noble.

Yeah, uh, sorry guys, I'm going to come right out and condemn this. It presents extremely serious subjects in a humorous way to no good purpose and some of the depictions, esp. seduction of Lot etc are totally over the top. OntheWay - you are right, it IS funny the way it is presented, when actually it was a horrible deed and needs to be understood and held as such.

A central problem is making holy things a laughing matter (yes, some forms of humor are fine, but this is the dark, belittling kind), and Lego people are nothing if not laughable.

Just as that cartoon series about vegetables as Bible characters made light of Biblical subjects in the name of "making it acceptable to children" , this is making light of the whole Bible. looks like.

I do not recommend that you pass this site around.

They do not generally seem to distort the story. It just gives people a chance to hear the basics of some of the Biblical storie

However, I can see why someone might be offended. But either way, it's just for fun.

That's my point. This guy takes the Bible and makes it "just for fun". it's not edifying or good to take Lego figures and put them in sexual poses. That stuff is for prurient curiosity and amusement. It springs from a dark source.

I can think of a dozen appropraite ways to give people chances to hear the Bible stories and the purpose should not be for our amusement. I'm all for humor and laughs, and there are some spiritual things we can laugh about. But we should never present the Holy Scriptures and Holy Fathers in a laughable light (ie, where we are laughing at them).

I was just wondering.

My kids have spent their early years in a completely religion-free house. Veggie Tales is the only thing that got my oldest son interested in the Bible. He now likes reading Bible stories, but it used to be like pulling teeth before that cucumber came a long.

That's my personal take, FM, not the position of the OC.
I think the Veggie tales are in poor taste, and see no reason why depictions can't be of actual people, or at least animated versions thereof. Plus there is a vague (definitely vaguer than this "brick" guy) sense of treating the subject matter too lightly.
We can find humor in Christianity - we have been told to rejoice!, but I think the problem in America is that faith has become something of a joke to the public mind, and a complete lack of pious attitude toward religion in general.

As I'm pretty sure everyone knows I tend to take these things pretty seriously. I do agree, Scripture is not to be taken lightly. I think the humor lies more in the very immature nature of putting lego figures in sexual poses. So while one shouldn't find it funny, it's sort of hard not to snicker. Not unlike some of the crass jokes one hears from time to time.

You guys don't like VeggieTales?

I hate Veggietales. Not because of the message or anything, I think it's pretty good in that regard. However, talking veggies is just distrubing on a level that even lego incest can't touch.
