This, along with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia are my favorite televisions shows that aren't cartoons.

As for cartoons however, I enjoy Metalocalypse, The Squidbillies, Super Jail, and Robot Chicken to name a few.

I don't really watch too much television though. I usually by my TV on DVD. :)

Edit: It's funny that I came across this thread... I am currently watching the first season on DVD. This will be my second time through the entire first season.

After watching interviews with the cast and crew, I was able to appreciate the show even more. It's very rare that watching interviews makes me appreciate something more than I already. It's just amazing how different they are on screen, yet how similar they are as well. It's just a beautiful thing!

I agree, i gave up on sit-coms ever being funny not just raunchy, but this one's great. I love it.

Me too. I haven't watched sitcoms in YEARS because they just went downhill. But this show is really enjoyable.

I'm a recent convert - the show is hilarious.
I just wonder if the writers are going to be able to keep up with Sheldon's intellect!:mmh:
.
never fear....his intellect is the fodder of comic relief....just as performers had to be able to spout techno-babble in Star Wars or Star Trek, the actor playing Sheldon will have to be able perform as a guy who's academically brilliant but socially inept. I just LOVE the play on words about 'friends with benefits' when Sheldon innocently came out of Penny's apartment, and Leonard's face was SO priceless, in last week's episode.

the space toilet episode, slayed me...especially with the meat loaf scene, and of course, when Leonard found out that Penny had *some* feelings for him.

I dunno HOW I missed this show the whole year! My friend was telling me about it several months ago, and I forgot about it until that one, fateful BORING night...I decided to check this show out, and fell in love with it.

This was hilarious. It was especially funny to me because we are shopping to replace two toilets in our house and yesterday we went to a showroom to look at a few. We wanted to check the flush power, and when my husband made a joke about getting some meat loaf, the sales guy laughed because he'd seen the show too. We were all cracking up.

I'm not a big fan of situation comedies. In fact, I hate them a bit. My parents, on the other hand, love them. A few weeks back I sat down to watch The Big Band Theory with them and I loved it. Now I see other people saying things like this as well. I wonder what makes this show an exception for most people?

My parents said they liked it because it reminded them of me -.-
