Thank you for that honest and heartfelt question. I am sure that I will get grilled for what I am about to say, but I believe it to be the truth.

If you are looking for empirical proof that the scriptures are inspired you will find none.

Your's is a matter of faith, as it is for all of us. Sure we can point to scripture that shows that scripture is inspired, but this isn't what you want.

If the Bible were presented in a court of law, there would be no proof that it is inspired. CSI could not help you here.

Faith is our only evidence. And that faith must be child like, trusting. Being the father of 6, the oldest of whom is 19, I can tell you that children are far from intellectual, they are trusting and naive. This is how we must come to God, for God has made the simple things of this world to confound the wise (intellectual).

thank you for your reply.however,i am looking for the best evidence.i agree that empirical proof may not happen in this age,but actually what i am seeking is valid evidence that my intellect can grasp(or attempt to grasp).i have seen the effect of my faith in many areas,and have actually seen physical manifestations(healings)occur in church services.
I suppose what i may be asking is whats the best evidence that the canon of scripture is truly Gods word?
(sometimes i feel like i don't even know the right questions to ask)..thanks again,peter!

Ah, the question is not one of empirical proof, but rather logic, is that it? Prehaps seeing a "paper trail" of historical consistancy would be more in line?

well,what can you tell me about biblical prophecies being fulfilled?i suppose thats a starting point..i have read a while back about the naming of cyrus,i believe his name was(old testament prophecy).can you tell me about that,and others?
my nagging question is:what good,logical evidence do we have that supports the canon of scripture truly being God inspired?i understand that the church leaders at the council of nicea and others agreed on the canon,but how did they know that the material they voted on was truly God inspired? thanks again for your help.Tc12.

The rise and fall of every grat civilization was Prohesied prior to it happening.

The rebirth of Israel only happened little over 50 years ago Ezekial chapter 37 and 38 prophesied this. What is happening now with Israel was also prophesied.

Gog and Magog is Russia and their allies. Russia recently has been leaning toward alliances with Iran Syria and just recently ran joint military excercises with China. you will start to see the Bible has predicted all these things you will see in the next few years and beyond.

The best part is Matthew 24 :34 says that generation will not pass away before Christs return which mean the people born on the Day Israel became a nation again at least one will still be alive when he returns. Do the math if that person was born in 1947 when this happened (Israel Becoming a Nation)
then Hes coming back maybe in my lifetime I am41.

Well, technically, yes, though I am not Native American. A friend of mine assigned that "Indian" name to me because I cry easily and frequently. She just wanted to assign me a special nickname. I like it. Not only that, but I have always had a deep respect for the Native American tribes, and regret how the white man destroyed their land and way of life.
