Bride and the Poor Christ
Many love the great King of Kings and the wonderful Lord who heaps on us abundant blessings, showers us with gifts...yes, the triumphant risen Christ. But here is Jesus, longing to be loved, dressed like a poor beggar, clothed in a robe worn with holes and covered with patches. He is sitting of all places in a cave, humble and hidden, forgotten by so many.
Yet, look who is sitting with Him? Is that you? Have you come aside from the business of life just for a little while to be with Him? Have you said "I'm laying aside all that is calling me from the world so I can give my affection to Jesus?"
She is dressed in pink and red, the color of a rose. That's how the Lord Jesus looks at you, like a beautiful rose, because your gift of sacrificial love and devotion is like a sweet rose to Him.
There is a ruby in the center of your being the same as the broach on this maiden's dress. The ruby is a symbol of His blood and grace.
Let us pray that the Lord gives us grace to give more to Jesus.
