The beauty of hebrew language

The genelogy of Jesus listed in Luke 3 teaches amazing truth when you read the meanings of the hebrew names.

HEBREW ----->ENGLISH
Adam ------->Man
Seth -------->Appointed
Enos -------->Mortal
Cainan ------>Sorrow;
Maleleel ----->The Blessed God
Jared -------->Shall come down
Enoch ------->Teaching
Methusala --->His death shall bring
Lamech ----->The Despairing
Noe --------->Rest/comfort.

It was such a tragedy that the Jews rejected the Messiah after they had been waiting for Him for thousands of years, because they didn't study the scripture well enough.

Doukhan, who got his Dr. from Andrews, and who authored Adventist books on Daniel, , etc. suggests that the Jews did not actually reject Jesus initially in his book , "Israel and the Church"

Evidence from historical records and the book of Acts show that perhaps the majority of Jews in Jerusalem, and many in the diaspora accepted Jesus as Messiah.

But as Christianity later departed from Sabbath keeping, a key factor of Torah observance, and became more antinomian the number of Jews who were converted died off dramatically.

Anti-Jewish sentiments,. and the corresponding polemics from Rabbinical Judaism also put a curb on the conversions until now they are one of the toughest groups to reach.

Given the current history of Jewish/Christian relations, it is no wonder why.

Intersting book anyway. Short, filled with great insights, and gives a lot of information on the Jewish roots of Christianity.

I can't say as I agreed with everything he said ,but certainly thought provoking.

Parts of his Daniel book are interesting as well. I found his notes on the transition from unclean animals in the vision of chapter 7 to sacrificial animals in chapter 8, and the implications that has for interpretation interesting.

That's a bit of revisionist history in his attempt. Am I surprised these are among our midst?

A large crowd annointed Jesus 'hosanna' and were ready to accept Him. Yet they turned against Him a week later.

All His disciples were jewish. But they were the extreme minority. The religious leaders knew very well He was the messiah. They cursed themselves and their children with Jesus's blood, Matt 27:25. The bible is very clear: the jews as a nation rejected Jesus.

As a contrast, when the gospel was preached onto the gentiles, they received it with gladness.

Two of our dearest friends are jewish SDAs. They have the 1st jewish adventist radio program in the NYC area, probably in the country as well. They acknowledge the jews in general have the 'holier than thou' attitude.

They shared with me their experience that once they went to an orthodox temple, after they mentioned Jesus's name, they almost didn't make it out alive.

The bible showed many cases that because of the sins of the fathers, the following generations paid the awful consequences. But God is not unjust. Every jewish person with an open mind can cling to the cross. However the situation they are in has made it very difficult:
  • The holiest jewish book Talmud forbids and curses whoever reads and studies the 70 week prophecy in Daniel 9. Why?
  • Talmud blasphmes Jesus with the most heinous language: it calls Jesus the bast*rd child of the roman soldier Padilla, it says Jesus is burning in hell and many even worst things I can not say. Imagine anyone who's educated in this system having great trouble converting.
  • The Judaism of today is drastical different from the pure faith of Messianic Juidaism of the patriarchs. The jews adopted the Babylonian Mystersm into their believes. Kabbalahism (Jewish Mystersm) is the foundation of Gnosticism and many New Age religions.
  • Roman Catholic church in the name of Jesus persecuted the jews throughout history. There is alot to repair.
  • Zionism is the product of freemasonary. The establishment of the nation of Israel was devised by Albert Pike, southen confederate general, a 33 degree freemason. It aimed to deceive the jews.
  • The sabbath issue. Most christians do not keep the sabbath. An important issue for the jews.
  • The anti-jewish sentiment. Many of the christians have this problem. True christians shouldn't. But disgracefully they are a stumbling block for the jews.
Seeking hebrew roots is a trendy thing to do among many christian churches today. SDAs are not an exception. However they are not aware of the problems exist in the judaism of today. The danger of falling away is great. I've seen many did just that.

The 3rd angel's message is to expose the sins of Babylon. When this message is successful, many jews and non-jews will come out of the spiritual babylon. God promised the latter rain will follow. But we must preach this message to the world.

The 144000:

The bible usually list the name of the first born son and so on and so on. The way the names of 12 sons of Jacob listed in Revelation 7 is very odd. It lists Judah (Judah was the 4th son) first. Rueben was the first son. There is a hidden message in Rev 7 about the 144000.

(I stole this from Doug Batchelor)
The meaning of each names is listed in Genesis 29 .

1. Judah ---> “I will praise the Lord”
2. Ruben ---> “He has looked on me”
3. Gad ---> “Given good fortune”
4. Asher ---> “Happy am I”
5. Naphtali ---> “My wrestling”
6. Manasseh ---> “Making me to forget”
7. Simeon ---> “God hears me”
8. Levi ---> “Joined to me”
9. Issachar ---> “Purchased Me”
10. Zebulun ---> “Dwelling”
11. Joseph ---> “Will add to me”
12. Benjamin ---> “Son of His right hand”

To make it readable:
"I will praise the Lord for he has looked on me and granted good fortune. I am happy because my wrestling, God is making me to forget. God hears me and is joined to me. He has purchased me a dwelling and will add to me, the Son of His right hand.”
