there is a strange phenomnion going on in the world of music today, an outbreak of bands that start with "The" have brashed out in great force. This isnt a new thing, no indeed, it it isnt new. Some great/amazing bands had/have "the" in them. (THE beatles THE clash. THE eels THE doors THE who)
Recently, the "The" has been used so much its kind of annoying. Lets just look at the case studies. Some of these have been around awhile, some have been born in the last fews years...
The strokes
The Vines
The Hives
The slackers
The white strips
The elms
the shins
the velvet underground
the beta band
the band
most of these bands are awsome, but one cannot help but ask "why the "THE"?
when will this "THE" outbreak end? will it infect a whole new generation of music? only time will tell
(you may be asking what the point of this thread was. the answer is, there is no point)
