The Atheist Forum Challenge

Hey everyone at Christian Forums. First I just want to say "hello" to all of you who have taken some sort of interest after seeing the title of my post. I also want to appologize, I really don't know where exactly this should be posted. I have just joined, and I guessed this could be considered a "game" even though this is a little more serious then that...

This is actually something I was thinking about a month ago, and praying for weeks now. I was thinking about the great commission. I had been spending a lot of time learning about surrendering yourself, so that you could bring the maximum glory to our Lord and Savior.

Well I had a little thought pop into my head one day while praying. I was thinking, "You know God, I try to live every aspect of my life, as if you were right next to me, and try a lot to put myself in bad situations, so that you may use me and bring out the good, but am I doing that with my life?" and as I thought about this, I thought about my recent forum I created online.

I made a forum, and I was going to try and kind of "hide" God, so that everyone will be more open minded about the forum, but then sneak God in, so I could kind of "silently kill" some atheists without them knowing about it. And I thought that was really cool that God made technology so that I could do that. After a month or so of not really getting any traffic, I started to wonder, "God, was this really a great idea? It really did seem so at the time, but is this what you want me to do with all this knowledge you have given me about you?"

This led to a new "invention" that the lord had placed into my brain. I was thinking about Matthew 5:13-16. This is when Jesus was telling us to be the salt and light of the Earth. I was also starting to think about Jesus. Jesus never set up a stand and said, "Hey everyone, come to me and I'll teach you some stuff." He went TO the problems, and fixed them, then when he left, people followed.

I started thinking about this a lot, and praying about this, and how I should make this every part of my life. Well, I started thinking about this online, since that is part of my life , and I said, "Father, where could I possibly go, that would need your greatest help?" and I actually went to random forums, and brought up some good debates, but then I was thinking about how most of our debates our between and amongst only ourselves. I was thinking about all my "in person" debates, and how I never really had one over the net.

So I started doing the "great commission" in "atheist forums". I know this sounds kind of weird, but I know it is exactly the perfect place to plant the seed of the Lord. Why not make the most out of something great!? So I know this may sound weird, but I want to challenge some people. Let me remind you though, you will be literally in "enemy territory" Only go if you really have a good knowledge to back yourself up. If you have a friend, ask them to go in there with you. I am not saying, start off by just throwing scripture at them. I really want you guys to go in, and do exactly what Jesus did.

Maybe you will see some atheist already in a conflict. Seal their conflict with Jesus(not bluntly of course, just maybe morals, or some biblical teaching of some sort) and then after they are interested, share bits and pieces. This is something though you need some confidence. Please come back here if you need maybe some sort of "refreshing" and I am sure the love that people have here will be more then happy to help you out. I really though would love to hear some of your stories, or even hear that you are interested, and you have found a few places where you want start your "forum ministry". Please tell me everything you want/can.

Also, after I prayed about it and God pretty much slapped one of the forums in my face, I saw they said, "Absolutely NO debating!" and I was like, "Wow, ok God, you put me here, you are going to help me right?!?!" well, we will see what the lord has in store for them. Don't let that discourage you. I just started the conversations off light and friendly, and I will let the lord work these out.

But please people, I beg you to take this challenge. It will be a great way to firm your foundation with God, and also maybe allow you to defend/share the gospel in person if you have always been bad at it. You can look back to these forums. Also, if you guys ever get asked hard questions/put in difficult situations, please come here, and we will help in anyway possible. Thank you all so much for your patience and time, and I know the lord will do great things!

I will you with this in any way i can Matt. i would love to go around and bring new believers into this world. with all the temptations of the mind and flesh, it would be a little hard for the people to give up their other life. but once they become saved, they will no everlasting happiness and joy.

Thank you Zalorticus for your interest. I also wanted to post a quick guide while doing a study through the gospels, and some of Paul's journey.

GUIDE TO FORUM EVANGELIZING

1.) Start off with small talk. You want to seem really friendly, and that you havn't come to there forum to try and turn the place around(even though you have).

2.) If you find an ICD (Internal Conflicting Debate) then go ahead and help, but it is highly recommended NOT to bring up God or the Bible in the beginning. You can use the morals the bible gives us, or maybe you can use a character in the bible as one of your friends, but don't directly point there. You don't want to reveal yourself till later. The longer you wait, the better the debate!

An example of the bible friend effect: "My buddy had all this bad stuff happen to him, and in the end, he actually ended up with more then what he had. Everything pretty much worked out for the best!" (An example of Job, try not to use people like, Jonah, or like David and Goliath, or Shad-rack, Me-shack and Abendago(spelling) just because there stories are too amazing for unsaved ears, lol)

3.) Don't ever deny your faith, if they call you a christian because of something you accidentally do or anything, don't EVER deny your faith. They can't kill you, but worst they could do is boot you. But what I would say would be something like, "Well guys, I am just really interested in you guys!" and that is completely true. That is actually a great thing to say too, just because it will make them more acceptable to what you say. They might try and start "unconverting you" now, but everything they say, you can start defending your faith.

4.) Which goes to the next point: Don't start laying down some attacks till they attack first. You don't want to look like you are trying to "take over" you just want to show them the power of God, and how their is no way it isn't real.

5.) If you find yourself in some predicaments, or cornered, or somehow find yourself in an irreversible situation, and need some help, please please PLEASE send your situations this way. I can help you in every way I can, and I can almost guarantee that there are super-bible-champs just waiting to help people out in the situation you are stuck in. So PLEASE send your messages this way.

If something else comes to mind, or you guys have some more helpful tips, go ahead and post them here please. I have still been praying a lot about this, and have been hoping God does some great stuff even over the net. Just to show people that God is literally EVERYWHERE. God bless you all!
