  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Artificial Womb: Technology Gone Too Far

From the article:
. . . In a video on bbc.com titled “The World’s First Artificial Womb for Humans,” Lisa said, “I imagine further down in the future an artificial womb could become part of a lifestyle choice for women. Because you don’t have to worry about the morning sickness, changes into your body. I think it could be very interesting for some people like, if you think about gay men. I feel like there’s this narrative in society that there is this ideal of natural reproduction. Natural reproduction is not the only way.”

. . . Corporations and wealthy individuals could easily buy massive quantities of artificial wombs, and babies could be placed in them whose lives otherwise would have been ended through abortion. In states where abortion is legal until birth, this raises a question regarding the legality of ending that baby’s life, since a baby could potentially be kept in an artificial womb for longer than nine months. Big Pharma and the scientific community would be sure to push the boundaries and grow babies in the womb to have their organs harvested and used for experimentation and research. This would inevitably be a multibillion-dollar industry.

I imagine they would all die before coming to term. Newborn infants that are not given any physical contact with other humans do not live long. Unborn infants that are starved of essential physical contact with their mothers would also fade away.

How sad :( heard this one Trans “woman” (male) claim men can now get womb implants and get pregnant. That actually happened to a man in the 1920s, I think, and he died because his body rejected it, obviously.

Back in the thirteenth century, the German king, Frederick II, conducted a diabolical experiment intended to discover what language children would naturally grow up to speak if never spoken to. He thought it would be German. Some things are just obvious, right?

So King Frederick took babies from their mothers at birth and placed them in the care of nurses who were forbidden to speak in their hearing. But a second rule was imposed, as well: the nurses were not allowed to touch the infants. To his great dismay, Frederick’s experiment was cut short, but not before something tragically significant regarding human nature was revealed. As you may have guessed, the babies grew up to speak no language at all because they died. In the year 1248, an Italian historian named Salimbene di Adam recorded, with an air of scientific observation, “They could not live without petting.” The babies literally died for want of touch.

That’s just awful! What about cleaning and feeding?? I can’t imagine how they carried out this experiment.

That's terrifying! Lord have mercy!

Reminds me of Genie Wiley. Real name Susan Wiley. Her father kept her in a chair for 13 years, until she later discovered. She had very little human contact, and was considered a feral child. Her story is absolutely heartbreaking. She is still living but her whereabouts are unknown because of privacy reasons.

I think there was a movie made about that with Eddie Redmayne playing the lead? Not sure though.
Yes. I think my dad was watching something about him.
