While there are sufficient historical references in 2 Kings 25, Daniel 5, and 2 Chron 36 that Nebuchadnezzar carried off temple treasures, which Ezra 1:9-11 listed but no mention of the Ark of the Covenant. Maccabees 2:4-8 Jeremiah found a cave where he placed the incense altar, ark of the covenant and blocked up the entrance. His companions went to mak out the way but were unable and when Jeremiah found out he said "The place shall remain unknown until God finally gathers his people together and shows mercy to them. Then the Lord will bring these things to light again, and the glory of the Lord will appear with the cloud, as it was seen both in the times of Moses, and when Solomon prayed ."

One tradition is that the Ark of the Covenant is in the sanctuary of the Dome of the Rock as inside there is a natural cave beneath the surface of the sacred rock and that place according to Jewish tradition, is the place called Mount Moriah, where Abraham offered Isaac.

UPI release from the Durham, North Carolina, bureau August of 1981 stated a team of researchers from Duke University and the University of Florida were said Saturday to have found the first known Ark of the Covenant from ancient Palestine....then later stated it was a part of a ark but not The Ark.

Then there is the Ethiopian tradition that the Ark of the Covenant is no longer in Israel but hidden under the ancient church of St. Mary of Zion in Aksum not far from the tomb of Solomn. This legend comes from Kebra Nagast.

"And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament; and there were lightninngs, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail." Rev 11:3 We see that God will show the real Ark of His Testament, which the one hidden on earth has been patterned. My question is, will we find the one here on earth?

Wrong forum?

probably so. Here's some science though. The ark itself is a large capacitor. We do not have all the details, but there could be quite a bit more circuitry involved. All the accoutrements are specified as conductors and insulators. There is a procedure for the preist to follow to keep from being burned or electrocuted.

I am planning to build a prototype. Those wishing to donate chitum wood and gold, please PM.

This is very interesting becaue this is an ancient Church which holds to the traditions of the Catholic and Orthodox Church regarding Mary being the living Ark of the New Covenant (she carried the living Word in her womb). That they believe that it is buried beneath a Church name after her. . .

And the passage in Revelation is believed by Catholics and Orthodox, and an increasing number of Protestants,to be in reference to Mary . . remember that there were no chapter or verse divisions until a few hunred years ago . . so there was no break between that verse and chapter 12 . . .
And the temple of God was opened in heaven: and the ark of his testament was seen in his temple. And there were lightnings and voices and an earthquake and great hail. And a great sign appeared in heaven: A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.

Rev 11:19-12:1
Adam Clarke recognizes the connectedness of these 2 verses in his Commentary on the Bible:
And there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail - These great commotions were intended to introduce the following vision; for the 12th chapter is properly a continuation of the 11th, and should be read in strict connection with it.
It is all very interesting . . . .

Peace in Him!

My question is, will we find the one here on earth?
I believe he real Macoy was taken to heaven when Jesus died. I believe there was a massive attempt at cover up. Perhaps references putting it in the temple removed even? I have heard of early christian legend that speaks of the curtain being sewn back up, to cover the very fact the ark was now missing. Remember the sword that cut it in two, the moment Jesusu died.
I have read Jefferies account of witnesses, like a diplomat who claimed that Israel secretly got out an ark from Ethiopia in the operations to rescue black Ethiopians. Ihave heard also, that an exact replica ark had been made to fool Israel's enemies or something in case they were invaded so they would not get the real one. I have heard how this ended up in Eyhiopia!
If we were to carbon sate this replica, it would check out pretty good as to the actual date! If a temple was rebuilt, and the replica introduced, most everyone would then be fooled if this replica was said to be the real ark.
Of course there is a lot of opinion, so we don't really know. I do know this, if one appears, or is supposedly found in Israel, I won't believe it is the original for a New York Minute! The bible tells us it is in heaven.
Tragedy is that some christians interpret the one in heaven as a replica! Pitiful. Anyhow that's my thoughts on the ark.

I believe that was falsified. Something about what he found being the wrong shape or something.
From what I've read, it was a different ark that was falsified in 1981. I don't believe that Wyatt's ark was ever falsified, mainly because he didn't produce an ark. He only claims to have seen it. There is nothing to neither confirm nor falsify.
