But not understanding that the person is in that phase of being the Antichrist only for the time of being the King of Israel, thought-to-be messiah by the Jews.
So that there ends up being all sorts of theories, such as the pope/papacy being the Antichrist, or the Mahdi being the Antichrist, etc.

The number of the name of Judah is 12,000. That is the number of his name.
All of those who are marked or sealed under the name of the beast are the number of his name.
The ones sealed on their foreheads is speaking of knowing the true God. It would be impressed on their mind. They wouldn’t have the seal of worshipping a false god.Rev 15:2

666 would represent the number of persons who are aligned with the beast.
Bible says the number of his name is 666 ... not 12,000The number of the name of Judah is 12,000. That is the number of his name.

But you have to admit that Jesus also warned his disciples not to follow false Messiahs that *already existed in his time.* Were they kings? The Jews, from their standpoint, are still looking for the arrival of their King of Israel messiah. That false christ / Antichrist already revealed himself to be the Man of Lawlessness in AD 66, which ended with his murder in the temple shortly thereafter. This is ancient history, which does not need a rebuilt temple to fulfill Christ's, Paul's, and John's prediction of an Antichrist.When the Antichrist reveals himself to be the man of lawlessness, it will end his time in his Antichrist phase.
That the Jews are still looking for their King of Israel, messiah is proof that no-one ever fulfilled that role in their eyes. What the Jews think and believe is essential to understanding the end time events involving the Antichrist.

God's plans are not contingent on what the Jews either think or thought. What difference does it make to eschatology if anyone calling themselves a Jew today thinks that their Messiah hasn't arrived yet? God will judge each man on a case-by-case basis as to their rejection of Jesus the Messiah. God's plans already progressed according to the first-century timing which Christ predicted for those events - including the revelation of the Antichrist and his restrainer. Paul's instruction to the Thessalonians reminded them that the Antichrist / Man of Lawlessness and his restrainer were already in existence in their own time.
The Antichrist individual was one which the Pharisees of Christ's days encountered when that Man of Lawlessness "came in his own name", promoting himself as the King of Israel in the Jerusalem temple over all other Zealot leader contenders for the Messiah role. This was 3-1/2 years before that temple was torn down to the last stone in AD 70.
