  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This article is so disturbing, disgusting and sad. The ACLU, Atheism, and Liberalism all go hand and hand and are of Satan. There is not much less evil these days than when these 3 combine.

The teacher who saved her class in the Oklahoma tornadoes, and prayed over them for safety has been fired. The atheist parent's of one of the student's admit she saved their child but now want recompense. I am beyond sickened.

Hi crystaljael,

Praise the Lord!!!! For Jesus has promised that if one of his brothers or sisters; a child of the living God, is persecuted for his names sake, then great is their reward in the Father's kingdom. Praise the Lord!!!!

These things are bound to come and they are merely a presage to the greater fulfillment of the prophecies leading up to and including the last days. Praise the Lord!!!!

I am thankful that the teacher was likely tenured in the state's retirement system and I am sure that she will be able to find more fulfilling employment, if her faith is real, in a christian school. The pay may not be quite what she's accustomed to and I believe that if there are any true believers in the Moore area that they will take up her fight and who knows, an incident such as this may be just the catalyst God would use to overturn a bad law.

We never know exactly how God is setting events in motion to bring Him glory, but we do know that for those who persevere to the end; those who are persecuted for His righteousness, they have a very great reward waiting them. Praise God!!!!!

Be strong and know and trust God's word. The last days for many, many believers will not be a pleasant life on this earth.

God bless you
In Christ, Ted

Oh, I broke my own rule. Always check, always check always check. Thank you seeingeyes for the truth. Of course, for me, the questions comes to mind: is there such a law that absolutely prohibits any and all prayer in any and all situations in the public school classrooms of Oklahoma? If so, I still would hope that even these bogus stories might cause the lawmakers to sit back and reflect on just how bad such a law could be and the power it might give such people as those who don't believe in their Creator over those who do and regularly call upon Him in times of sore need and trouble.

God bless you

After re-reading the article I suppose if I'd been sharp enough I might have been tipped off by the name of the ACLU attorney: Donald Ambula(nce)chas(e)sky, a common tongue in cheek moniker for attorneys.

Good catch! ^_^

Maybe he's from the law offices of Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe.

Okay that is pretty lame but I can see the humor in the name.

Thank you for catching this SeeingEyes.

I found an interesting article from some site called the Daily Sheeple and they state they are attempting to find if this is true or not but I love their commentary: "If the report is true, then this is an outrageous new low for the American system of justice and the idea of separation of church and state.
Likewise, if this is a false report, then the reporters involved are exploiting the Oklahoma tragedy for no other reason than to create division and ratings."

I really hope this turns out to not be true. I tend to not believe Snopes because they are a leftist organization. As Jesus said, Satan does not cast out Satan. I don't see the left being too honest therefore about what the left is up to.

I also agree with the Sheeple article and find this to be in poor taste for someone to exploit the OK situation for ratings. Then again, why be surprised??

Edit: can't spell this morning!

Who on earth would use the tornado disaster as the basis of a spoof???

In the UK there was a recent case where a couple of Australian DJ's played a joke on a hospital looking after Kate Middleton. The nurse killed herself.

I found the article distasteful to be honest. May God save us from misguided jokers!

I heard about that on the radio, Wolftone. I felt awful about the nurse but her suicide just seemed like such an intense reaction. I didn't feel like the radio hosts had a very malicious intent originally; at least from the news story I heard. I doubt that we got 1/10th of the information and news on it that Aus and the UK did though.

I think I am just boggled by what some consider to be humor these days!!

Well, I'm willing to give the authors of this little spoof the benefit of the doubt, and there doesn't look like there are any participants of the story that are real and might, therefore consider suicide because of some attitude of remorse or rebuke.

However, from the article on snopes, the point is made that this writing was done because right now there are some people in the state who are trying to outlaw just such things as private prayer or any outward show of one's faith. So, I'm hoping that it achieves the desired affect of causing such people to really stop and consider seriously any such actions.

God bless you all,
In Christ, Ted

I'm a liberal and I'm for people praying. What are you talking about? The fact that you start the thread with "ACLU" which is the African American group sounds like a racist bait to me. Is this another racist thing on this site?

I found the story of the woman in the UK who committed suicide. I believe there's quite a bit of difference in a prank that actually involves real people and causes harm to someone in the searching for radio humor. In that case real people did real things that caused real harm to an employee that was surely going to lose her job because of the prankster's hijinks.

On the other hand this is just a story of fictitious people concerning a fictitious event and was not really perpetrated, at least I don't believe, for the base desire of humor, but that it really had a higher cause. It was a story of fictitious people and events that were designed to cause lawmakers to carefully consider things that might happen, if certain laws are adopted.

I don't hold these two events as similar at all.

God bless you all,
In Christ, Ted

People died in that tornado so I would expect decent people to steer clear of making jokes about any or all aspects of the tragedy.

There are certain things that you just don't joke about through respect for those that died.

I'd think "Palookaville" would give the first clue that this is a bogus report. Satire maybe?

Either way it's unfortunate that in the wake of a tragedy when real people are suffering real loss, someone decides to write an article like that described by the OP link.

It's a shame. :(

Christian7PraiseJesus, ACLU = American Civil Liberties Union. Where is there race baiting here? I believe you are thinking of the NAACP. If you are going to be calling racist, at least get your facts straight. Thank you for being a shining example of liberals everywhere.

JGG, You are most welcome.

JGG, three things.

First, I am pretty sure a mod is going to remove that post. I am pretty sure they also would not permit it in your signature. I will openly admit it wasn't said with much kindness intended.

Secondly, race baiting is so disgusting to me. Most of my favorite people, in particular Christian Conservative's are not Caucasian. The thought that race had anything to do with this irks me to no end. There wasn't even race mentioned in the article so obviously the person didn't read it and just joined the thread to throw around the race card and flame.

Thirdly, no, you may not use anything I say for your signature. I don't want anything to do with an atheist, particularly one with evil intent. I'll pray for you though.

I am a poor example of Christ so please use His words (and or the Bible) and not mine if you wish to quote a Christian.

JGG, I didn't change anything that I had said, I merely corrected my typo's. Whatever you think had been there, short of those typo's, was not.

I didn't claim you were race baiting, I was responding to why I came off as so hateful as you said. I assumed you wanted a conversation but I see clearly that was wrong. The only thing you are doing, is being hateful yourself. If you hate Christians, you can do that. Don't think that you won't be questioned then for spending your free time amongst them though. That is nonsensical.

To be honest, I would say God has put it onto your heart to spend time around His people, and your just fighting it. You should look towards Saul, maybe that will be you someday. And... you've already been prayed for. :) God Bless!

Interesting. Your savior felt and acted differently.

Why are you not trying to emulate him?
