Soo...my College Pastor put fourth a challenge this week....asked for 4 volenteers (I was one of them)...

he gave each of us 10$, and told us to go and earn a return on that 10$ in 1 week. So next week, we have to report back and see who made the greatest return. (Suddenly I'm reminded of the master and 3 servents...only they had one year). Profits go towards the college ministry and mission trips...sooo hmmm

Anyhoo...anyone have any ideas what I can do with 10$ to earn a return within a week?

So far I have bake sale on campus...but I have to make certain I can actually sell food on campus first.

Buy something for a fraction of its real value on eBay, and sell it to someone else.

Wait, lol... that was a real dumb idea. (It would take more than a week and you might very well get stuck with what you bought.) :p

Maybe my dumb idea will get your creative juices flowing, though.

Personally, I would talk to the pastor about organizing a trip to do volunteer work for a compelling cause. I would then split the $10 between printing a sign about the cause and buying some snacks to persuade people from your college group to come to the meeting. After getting people to sign up for the trip, I would then take the sign somewhere on campus and start gathering donations. (Along with asking relatives and friends for donations.)

Then use all that money to go on the trip.

(More donations could be gathered later along with fundraising from bake sales, etc., but if you are a charismatic person and know how to appeal to compassionate people, you could easily come out ahead of the $10 investment within a week.)

If you could name the details of one of the missions trips you could use the $10 to have pins or badges made up (or stickers) and just go around giving people the stickers and asking for donations.

The local hari chrisnas used to do that here. They'd dress in normal clothes and hand out smiley stickers and while chatting to the people ask for donations to 'feed the homeless' (their soup kitchen outreach to get people into their religion.) People didn't realise who they were or what they were doing, they just gave them money to 'feed the homeless'.

They used to make a killing although I haven't seen it around here for a while now (maybe because I started praying about it ;) )

haha, these answers are really silly :p

Use the 10 dollars to make a loaf of banana bread. Then cut it in 10 slices and sell each slice for $2.00

Then take the $20 and buy supplies to make like 100 cookies. Then sell each cookie for $2.00

Then with the $200: get 50 fridge magnets made with a prayer for the missions trip and info on it; sell these for $4.00 each. Also get 20 screen print tee shirts made, sell these for $15/each. And maybe 50 cool bookmarks with verses on them, sold for $3.00/each.

That should get you about $650 which you can use to buy a cheap plane ticket out of the city because it probably took you over a week to get your returns, and you don't want the pastor hunting you down :p :D
