Number three is probably my favourite.

I've been to the Uffizi Gallery, but I was too young to appreciate it back then apparently because I don't know most of these paintings. Still, any excuse to get back to Florence is a good one, I suppose.

I like number one the best.
There are apparently several versions of that one by Fra. Angelico and this one is my favorite:

In it you see the angels - two of whom are pointing to the Child, another is announcing the Birth to a shepherd. You see the men from the East , who bring their gifts, and the very puzzled Joseph, who knows he has not 'known' the Virgin - but she has born this very special Babe. And you see the Midwives - who show that this very special Child is human and needs care as all babies do after birth.

In the centre of course we have the Virgin, the Theotokos , the God bearer , worshipping her Child , and the beasts who gave up their stable for Him.

Above them all is the star - that points to the Child .
