I only find a single reference in scripture regarding a "man of sin". You can do the search here for yourself: http://blueletterbible.org/index.html

2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

That's it! The only verse. So can we learn more about this man of sin by reading the verse with a little more context? Here's the very next verse:

2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

So where is the "temple of God"? Doing a search for the term "temple" we can learn the following from verses nearby, if we only have eyes to see it:

1Cr 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

1Cr 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

1Cr 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which [temple] ye are.

2Cr 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

The temple of God is .... us!

Do some Christians metaphorically grab a pitchfork in one hand and a torch in another and go running over the hill to look for that dastardly man of sin, that son of perdition, pointing the finger over there, no wait - over there, running this way and that. Perhaps even speculating with their friends as to where to find that villian in the world today?

Is the man of sin "The" antichrist? It sure doesn't seem that the concept can be supported with scripture does it? If we do confuse the terms "man of sin" and "The" antichrist wouldn't we be saying then that antichrist is seated in god's temple which is us?

Can't we open our hearts just enough to learn from the verses above that if we are serious about finding the man of sin, we should be pointing our fingers 180 degrees from the direction in which the enemy has tempted us to, and explore the dark corners of our own hearts? Indeed it would seem that the man of sin is what we become when we allow Satanic influence into our temple of God.

Where would Satan want us to look for the man of sin, the son of perdition? Would he rather see us run over the hill with torch and pitchfork in hand, or would Satan prefer to see us search our hearts - our temples of God - for the man of sin?

2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4:4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
