Thanksgiving Madness

You must've seen in the news of the chaos and craziness from Black Friday's sales - they seemed to have targeted Walmarts. Since our Canadian Thanksgiving has long past (in October), I'm equally humored and disgusted seeing the mad mob of shoppers do this ritual every year.

Were any of you part of that? IMO, there's nothing I need to buy that's worth standing in line before dawn and fighting it out just to save a few bucks. Your thoughts?

Crazy I say, just crazy! I can't stand long line ups. I've been know to leave my full buggie right in line and walk out,especially if there is only a couple of tellers on and 3 or 4 standing around chatting.

While those nutty folks for fighting for 'junk' I was sleeping late. I don't like shopping in the normal crowds at stores, so I surely will not go out of my way to be in a mad house of shoppers.

At one Walmart the workers were throwing Laptops into the crowd and they were diving for them and fighting over them. *shakes head* now how dumb is that?

I do NOT do those crazy early morning wait-in-line stores like WalMart or Target or KMart. I admit, I DID venture out on Friday, but at a decent normal hour of 10 am! AND I met my MIL and SIL at the mall....it totally wasn't crazy at all....I think everyone either had gone home & back to bed by then OR were still at the WalMarts, etc.

As an added plus, I WAS able to get some more Christmas presents bought!

I decided long ago that I would never shop in a place where I had to pay to shop there(Costco) and I would never stand in line for hours just to get a good bargain. To watch those people fight over "things" just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Oh cool.... you mean you know places where you don't have to pay to shop? Can you tell me? I'm shopping for a car right now and if I don't have to pay for it.....

But seriously, before our son was born, I'd never step foot in a Costco - but since my wife was given a corporate card, now we occasionally go to stock up; the secret is go during off-hours or off-nights, such as dinner time or Tuesday night.

I have never been to a Costco, but I do like Sam's Club. There are certain things that we buy there every month or two. Like 250 Solo cups for about $7.00 instead of 12 or 16 for around $1.00. I also like their paper plates and bowls, they price compair like the cups do, and a paper bowl that can hold cereal is a good thing or a throw away plate that you can cut meat on. There are also certain food items that we can safe so much on that it's worth the yearly fee to us.
