I have arrived safe and sound in my new home. It took 12 hours of driving to get here with the big U-Haul towing my car and my two cats in the cab of the truck with me yeowling almost constantly (with some exhausted sleeping for up to 10 minutes at a time.)
I left at 12 midnight and arrived just after 12 in the afternoon.(It took this long because I took breaks from driving as I was driving alone and needed to rest my eyes.) The movers were not ready to unload until 1 but they were done by 2 pm. It is now 3:30 pm the next day and I am doing well with the unpacking. I have a lot more storage room here then my last place and the kitchen has 3 times the storage. I thought I had carried way too much stuff here but as I unpack, it doesn't seem like too much stuff at all.
As soon as the snow piles melt down, I will have a view of Lake Superior from both my bedroom and livingroom windows. The snow is very deep although it is 40 degrees today so there is a lot of melting. This is making the parking lots and walk way's very wet and slippery.
When the weather is better, I will be able to walk to everything in town just about. Work is too far to walk to, but I will get lots of exercise walking to the grocery store, library, resturants, etc.
I am rather far from a local parish. It will take nearly 3 hours to get there one way. But I have started talking to my new Priest and I can tell that this is a good Spiritual Father for me. I struggle with daily prayers and right off the bat, without my mentioning it, he said that he is working with the whole parish on prayer habits.
I start my new job on Monday. Thank you all for your prayers!
