Six Dead in Attack on Pakistan Church School
By Nasir Malick

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Six people were killed and at least three wounded on Monday in a gun attack on a Christian school near Murree, northeast of the Pakistan capital of Islamabad, local officials and school staff said.

The attack was at least the third on a Christian minority target since Pakistan began supporting the U.S.-led war on terror after the September 11 attacks on the United States.

An administrator at the school, who did not give his name, told Reuters that witnesses saw two men, carrying automatic rifles and their faces covered in black scarves, walk into the compound of the school and open fire indiscriminately.

"Two of our guards who are Muslims, a carpenter and a cook, were killed," the administrator said, adding a receptionist was also seriously injured.

It was not immediately clear whether any students or foreign nationals were among the dead and injured.

Doctors at a civil hospital in Murree confirmed six people had died and at least three injured.

Khurseed Abbassi, the mayor of Murree, told Reuters the raid took place at around noon (0600 GMT) in the village of Gharyal, about six km (four miles) from Murree, which is about 30 km (19 miles) northeast of Islamabad.

The gunmen were believed to have fled on motorcycles after the attack and hiding out in nearby woods, the mayor said.

The administrator said the two apparently arrived on foot. He said they entered the school gate, locked it behind them, opened fire and escaped over a fence.

GRENADE ATTACK ON CHURCH

A grenade attack in March killed five people including the wife and daughter of an American diplomat in a church in Islamabad mainly used by foreign nationals.

Last October, 16 Christians and a Muslim were massacred in a church in Bahawalpur in the populous Punjab province.

Christians, Hindus and other religions make up about three percent of Muslim-majority Pakistan's 140 million people.

The town of Murree was built as a hill station by the British and still bears the colonial imprint of churches, bungalows and guest houses.

These terrorists MURDERED not only Christians (which is a horrible enough sin and disgrace) but Muslims also.

Christian Bigotry at it's best. You act like the killing of Muslims is not as bad as the killing of Christians.

Ah yoou din´t want to understand the reasons for the terrorists. Then you probably don´t want an end to them.
As is demonstrated nowadays, that if you don´t want to understand the motivations of the terrorists, then you cannot win.
Israel government does indeed understand why terrorist acts are coming, but chooses to ignore the reasons and tries to eliminate the terrorists by use of force. This leads to extreme violation of the most basic human rights (confessions made under torture are legal, family members automatically guilty withotu even a farce process). Do you really want this happen to the USA?
On the other hand, the ETA in Spain is not supported by the local Basks, therefore the police has it a lot easier to get terrorists into prison withotu violation of human rights. Even the local Basks, for whom the ETA claims to fight for protest after the terrorist attacks. That´s because Spain has recognized the Basks as a seperate entity with a lot of freedoms.

First step to stop terrorism is to understand, WHY it happens. Then analyze the reasons. I bet, that muslim terrorists from Arab states would be far less popular, if Palestinians would get treated like the Basks. Everyone wants to live and have a chance at a good life. Palestinians have that not. So let´s give them the chance. That would not make muslim terror go away overnight, but the new generation would then be more inclined to keep their possessions and improve them. Now they don´t have anything to lose except their life.

The Arabs have a perpetual hatred of the Jews, and Israel as a nation. What is so hard about understanding that. It has nothing to do how the Israeli government response to terrorism, in the Arab mind just the existence of Israel is enough to motivate their hatred. One needs to only study history here, the Arabs have always hated the Jews and it doesn't matter what the Israelis do, their very existence is an offensive repulsion to the Arab. The Arabs will not stop until they have annihilated the Jews from existence. If the Arab nations as a whole are allowed to develop an inventory of nuclear weapons, they will use these weapons on Israel and anyone who supports them. Not because the Israelis have treated them bad, but because they simply exist. BTW the Jews and the Arabs have never treated each other with any good, but the Jews have never sworn the genocide of the Arabs, as the Arabs have of them. The reason the Arabs hate us, is because we are the deterrent, that says we will not allow the Jews to be annihilated. This is the only reason we are hated also. The pacifist in the world would rather give the Jews up than face the terrorist actions of the Arabs. The war between the Arabs and the Jews is coming and I think the end result will be, bad move Arabs, we will be forced to nearly annihilate them. Peace, but not yet.

Marantha I guess, that you are unaware of the fact, that Egypt and Jordania have formal peace treaties with Israel, riight?
I just love these generalisations, that makes it so much more easier to hate all back, right?

Of course, the hatred against Israel nowadays is not funded on the fact, that Israel military units destroy official schools, thus driving those kids to the extremist Koran schools?
I guess, the hatred of the Palestinians against Israel has nothing to do with the fact, that TORTURE is a valid method of interrrogation.
I guess, the fact, that Israel government destroys houses of Palestinian families and moves in radical racist and extremist Israel settlers in Plaestinian settled terretories as a constant needle to the eye.
Of course, the hatred against the USA has nothing to do with the fact, that in spite of severe violations against basic human rights, the (oh so moral defenders of freedom) USA gives still support to Israel without even questioning their acts.
Oh add to the fact, that Israel chooses to ignore about 50 or so UN resolutions against them, with no repercussions. Why no sanctions against Israel? Because the oh so moral defenders of freedom have blocked anything the UN safety arm would have liked to do.

You must remember, the people that signed those treaties are dead, killed by their own people. They will have no value in the next war. If the Arabs are allowed to get or develop a nuclear arsenal they will use them. The fighting that is happening has nothing do with how Israel is treating the Palestinians. If Israel would give the Arabs every concession they wanted at the peace table, (and what you have fail to see, or reject is), that the Arabs would still attack and use genocide to annihilate the Jews as a race. This is what is embedded in the Arab mind set at an early age. The Arabs as a whole have rejected, from their theological and philosophical ideology, the acceptance of the existence of the Jews as a race. The agenda and goals of the Arab usage of the Palestinians, is to get Israel to give up the buffer zones they created after the 1967 and 1973 wars. The Arabs are simply trying to force world opinion against Israel, to force them to give this strategic land up without a fight. This move would be like putting a rope around your neck, and then trying to balance yourself on the end of a broomstick in the middle of a hurricane. Suicide. So trying to correlate Israel’s retaliation on the Palestinians for terror attacks, as the reason for the terror attacks, just doesn’t hold much water, when the Arab thought for each day is, death to the Jews.

As we can read and see from news coverage the Russians are supporting the Iraqis, by the billion-dollar oil deal they have signed with each other. The Russians are in the process of building Iran a nuclear reactor. The technology is 6o years old. The Arabs will soon be able to develop nuclear weapons and build an offensive capability with an inventory of 20-30 deliverable warheads. If we allow this to happen, millions will die. Peace, but not yet.

The question is, why are the Jews in Palestine? We understand why they hate Israel, now we can stop it. Get the Israelis out of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and make Jerusalem a joint capital. Of course, another problem is media (especially in the US). Every time Israel attacks the Palestinians and murders their babies, it's justified because Israel is "defending" itself. However, when the Palestinians retaliate, it's terrorism. Hammurabi had it wrong.

An eye for an eye only leaves the world blind.

Maranatha, in your post above, you seem to think that every Arab, anywhere, is born with an intrinsic hate of Judeo-Christianity, and that all babies born in the past few years will grow up with nukes strapped to their chests. Well, will every Israeli child born in the past few years grow up inside tanks and with the United States behind them? Americans have got to stop listening to the religious right and see that the Israelis are just as much at fault as the "terrorists".

Marantha, the King of Jordania, who signed the peace treaty died of old age.
The President of Egypt, who signed the peace treaty is still alive.
You are hopefully aware of the fact, that Persians (Iranians) are not Arabs?
And you haven´t adressed the fact, that ISrael ignores UN resolutions and USA backs them uü, so they won´t get punished for it. Those resolutions, would they have been enforced, would have prevented a lot what is happening now.
Marantha, I guess for the worldwide defender of freedom and human rights it is ok to support a country, who considers confessions under torture legal.
The hate of most of the Palestinians against ISrael comes from those, who attend Kopran schools run by extremists. Of course they would not attend those schools in the first place, if Israel wouldn´t have destroyed Infrasstructure deliberately. The hatred will not go away overnight. It will take generations. The support for terrorists will not waver until people are taught to think for themselves. Israel does a great job to prevent that. And then they wonder why they are hated. It is really laughable.
As I said before, the more peopel have to lose, the lesser the chance they go and blow up something. Israel does a wonderful job of ensuring that lots and lots of people have nothing to lose. Oh the surprise, that those peopel now want revenge.
