  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So I went and bought a TENS machine the other day, and I have a couple of questions...

1. Has anyone here used one and are they any good?

2.Knowing that an electric shock/current can pass through one person to another, is my baby going to feel the electric pulse every time I zap myself?

Thanks. :)

My father uses one a lot for his back - it does seem to help
My husband has one as well, but he doesn't use it very often b/c it doesn't seem to help with his arthrtic (SP) pain.

Obviously neither one of them are pregnant - hehehehe - I would call your Dr or midwife before using it.

You kind of put little pads on your back and press a button on the machine and it sends an electrical pulse which is supposed to disturb the pain message between the nerves and the brain. So you zap yourself with it whenever the pain gets a bit much, and there are different levels of *zap*, some stronger than others, and I guess you turn it up as the pain gets worse.

Don't you just love all my technical know-how?:blush:

It's not pain *relief* as such, but more of a coping technique to just take the edge off it.
