  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Trans Epidermal Nerve Stimulation.

You stick four pads on your back, which are connected to a TENS machine. The machine sends out electrical pulses which are designed to interrupt the pulses in
sensory neurones between the uterus and the CNS. It is also designed to stimulate the production of endorphins.

You put on the TENS in early labour, maybe when the contractions are approx 5 or 6 in one hour, and set the machine low. This is to stimulate endorphin production. As the ctx become more intense, you increase the power, and boost the power during the ctx.

The only downside of TENS is that you can't really use it in conjunction with water, unless things have changed in the last 10 years (when I last used it).

You might as well try - if they're free to use at your hospital that is, they're not at mine - got too rent them. IF you don't like it you can always take it off.

I've never used one myself but I 've heard mixed reivews, one woman loved it, really helped her, another woman just said it irritated the heck out of her.
