  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi,

I am finishing a certification program to work in my field. School hours are M-F 7:30-4:30pm.

I am waiting for a job that I got hired with to start and that will take 2 weeks. Even then schedule is based on seniority so yeah...

I don't have a good smart phone iPhone so can't really do YouTube stuff or anything or a car that's at least 2007 so I can't Uber or anything like that.

I'm a 26 year old female so I don't want to do anything unsafe like working a gas station at night alone or door to door stuff.

I tried eBay and reselling that doesn't work. And I'm bad at it don't have time to figure out the insurance and outs.

I use mturk but it's a slow money maker.

I applied at a jack in the box got it and then backed out cause I was really embarrassed working fast food. I did it before at 14 and 16 but I'd rather do something that's a little less degrading at my age with my education level (bachelors) since I backed out probably can't ask them to take me back anyway.

If you suggest retail that's the job I'm waiting for now.

Help!!

Nothing that is paying the bills is degrading in my opinion. I understand what you are saying but if you need money then a job is a job.
I see nothing wrong with fast food work at all.

I agree, no job that is paying a wage is degrading, it is how one looks at it.

That said, Uber Eats could be an option - basically just delivering food for restaurants. It does not pay as much as regular Uber, but it is a little easier too. They have less stringent car requirements:

Car delivery:
  • Be at least 19 years old
  • Have a 2-door or 4-door car made after 1998
  • Driver's license and vehicle insurance must be valid
  • Have at least one year of driving experience in the U.S.
Scooter delivery:
  • Any make or model 2-wheel scooter
  • Must have motor of 50cc or less that travels no faster than 30 mph
Bike delivery:
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a government-issued ID
  • When signing up be sure to choose 'Biking' under transportation method.

So my insurance just got cancelled because they said they needed me to respond to some paperwork and I didn't so they just cancelled it.i get a lot of junk mail so I figured the insurance was just sending advertisements since my bill wasn't due yet. My bike is at my mom's house.

What's the worst of two evils? Trying to find another fast food job or bike delivery of food. Either way I'll feel like a loser in front of people. Or I could just try to find a different pharmacy tech job that would hire faster...

Many people work second jobs or extra jobs to earn extra cash, especially with Uber and Uber Eats. Also, many people look at bicycle delivery as noble and a way to get things done while not using gas and polluting. There is nothing shameful of earning a wage and being productive. I have an Uber driver account to earn extra cash when I can.
Or I could just try to find a different pharmacy tech job that would hire faster...
That is certainly an option, perhaps a 24hr pharmacy would have an opening faster as it is less desirable to work at night?

I'll try the bike delivery option... i do live in AZ and its 95+F over here though lol soon to be triple digits our high last year was 126. Ill try putting in applications for CVS health and Walgreens again if I can find new places to apply to. And other fast food places.
