Telling my counseling

I need to tell my counselor that I need to go everyweek instead of the recommended every other week starting next week. I am getting worse in my depression and I need to see him more than every other week. How do I tell him without him giving me the "hospital threat" talk?

hey hun!! funny i just found you here. i just checked my mail. i've been at an alnight 13 hour youth group hee hee...... anyway. your counselor shouldn't be uptight about your needs. and since you are being resopnsible by telling them what you need, that should also be an indicator of growth. so some areas you're struggling in... and others you are growing in. well... great job on the growth! i think idenifying your needs is a great big step in recovery and management! love ya!! dee

I agree with Dee. As long as you are being honest, then your counselor should not have a single problem with your needs or schedule. Just tell him how you feel and be honest...I'm sure he will understand. Take care!

Just be honest and tell him that you need to talk to him more often that you are having p more issues that you need more support in dealing with. I have had to ask the same thing. Good luck!

i think if you comunicate what you are feeling it should be ok. don't feel bad i have had that talk several times. a lot of times when they give you "the hospital talk" they just want to make sure you are safe. i think it is great that you want to work on the things in you life that you are struggling with. i have had to do the same thing with my counselor. hope it goes well for you.
