• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

hi! i met the founder of teen challenge when i was 9 years old. i've fallowed them throughout the years. i'm a supporter as often as i can be. i donate and sponser as well as shop at their thrift stores (who are run by x-addicts and the homeless). i've seen the program really make full circles when it comes to helping people. i encourge their live in programs. for some it's a much needed lesson in living a goldy way and getting christian fellowship. its deffinately not for anyone; but it's a worthy interrest to persue. xo dee

I graduated Teen Challenge and was on Restoration but recently got dismissed for cutting. Teen Challenge is a 13-15 month faith based program for men, women and teenagers who struggle with life controlling issues, like drugs, alcohol, sexual abuse issues, depression, things like that. Texas no longer takes those who self-injure, have eating disorders, or have sexual disorders. it really isn't their expertise... but it is an amazing program. I had graduated, worked there seven months, but just need something more for self-injury. If you want to know more, please check out these websites:

www.teenchallengeusa.com

www.tctexas.org

There are over 250 centers in the U.S. and it has been around since 1958. It is an amazing program, and has an 86% success rate. They really teach the Word of God. I may still need help for self-injury, but I am still a way different person and don't struggle with things I use to struggle with.
