Whats your opinion on them?

What if you want a tattoo to show your faith to God?

I have a tattoo. But, I got my tattoo when I turned 18.. b4 I found God. I don't think tattoos are bad. How do you feel about them?

I don't believe there is anything wrong with tattoos. In fact, at 53, I've considered getting a small doce on my s houlder

Tattoos...
Pretty important decision...
It lasts a lifetime.

Christian advice to Christians....

My advice is to pray and ask God and
if He approves, then by all means get one.

If God doesn't say yes then wait until He clearly give you His approval.

As Christians, which is more important,
God's opinions or advice or a tattoo?

If you never hear from God then you need
a relationship with God more than you need another tattoo.

Your body is the temple of God. I don't really think God wants his temple graffiti'd and spray painted so to speak. That's just my personal opinion, however. A few people in my church have tattoos, and they are deacons. I just don't personally want one.

I agree with pal handy. Pray and see what God says.

(and I strongly, personally advise against any kind of crucifixion symbol.) glorification of death and symbols of death is not christian or wise. you don't tattoo a bullet wound on your temple and it's not wise to tattoo any other instrument of death or torture on yourself either. regardless of the fact that it might have been used to kill or maim jesus.

I like the ones that aren't permanent...the really good ones last about a month
before fading away...that way you aren't stuck with something that you don't
have to put up with as long as you live.

I got a lot of friends who wished they hadn't of gotten tattooed...because their
children as teens sneaked and got themselves tattooed by some rogue "artist" who
does anybody no questions asked.

One thing that's interesting to me - some of those who oppose tattoos usually have pierced ears.

I see your point, but why then do we wear crosses around our neck? Surely that's the same thing, Okay its not branded into your skin but I'll wear this cross as long as I live. I'd just like to see what you mean by that!

I would like to get a tattoo, like a Celtic knot, but I'm really half and half about it, I've heard so many things about NO DO NOT GET ONE! and then I feel guilty for wanting one!

I think I def will ask God though, I do just wanna do the best for him

I completely understand about people regretting tattoos that they sneaked out against their parents, and the one thing I promised mum that if I was getting a tattoo it would never be a half done "In your face" to her.

If Jesus and the Disciples were walking the Earth in 2011, would you see them inside a Tattoo Parlor getting tattoos?

I don't wear a cross around my neck, no way. The Cross was a Pagan symbol where they killed criminals.

Let me ask you a question. If Jesus had have lived in 2011 and was killed in 2011 by electric chair electrocution, would you be wearing an electric chair around your neck?

So how do you envision Jesus and His disciples back then living in this present time right now?

Actually, I could definitly see all of the disciples (especially Peter) in a tattoo parlor getting tattoos and arguing over who has the best one, with Jesus telling them they all look great and to stop fighting about which one is best.

Yep. It would then represent God's forgivness of our sins. Which is exactly what the Cross represents.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

I wouldn't go putting ink upon the wall of the temple (the skin). If we were to put ink on any other wall, wouldn't that be classed as graffiti?

The fact is our bodies do not belong to us, they belong to Christ who bought them with his own blood. You do not have permission to go any put this stamp on your body.

Are you honouring God by doing this or dishonouring him? Let's think about it. If I were to sculpt a statue and someone came and painted on it, I would be very angry and disappointed. My hard work, dedication and care, ruined because someone else thought their "artwork" was better. Do you think your "artwork" is better than Gods? Isn't what God makes good? Can man improve God's design? No, so leave your body how God intended it to be. This goes for piercing and dying of the hair too. God has made us the way he wanted us to be.

I don't want to offend God by putting a tattoo over his design. I will simply thank God for designing me with good health and a nice body.

Would Jesus be sitting in a tattoo parlour getting a tattoo? Yes or No? If you say no, then live your life as Jesus would, and avoid getting tattoos.

After the death of Jesus, did you read anywhere in the Bible where people wore a Cross around their neck? Don't forget that much of Bible was written decades after Jesus' death, so why aren't they saying they are wearing a cross around their neck?

Wearing a Cross around your neck is as bad as wearing a heroin filled syringe around your neck if that is what killed Jesus. Shameful, absolutely shameful to wear an evil Pagan symbol around your neck. You are indirectly promoting and supporting the killing and sacrificing of people on a cross. Shameful.

If Jesus walking the Earth in 2011 there is no way I can picture him walking into a Church covered in tattoos, no way! So I choose to live as my Lord and follow His example.
