Lately I've had this scripture come to mind lately.
I have a sense of what it means but another person's thought on it would help
If you could explain the scripture;

Psalms 34:8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

Hello @CuriousQuestionPoster, like v9, which is a reminder to the saints to trust God for everything that we need, continually walking by faith before Him throughout our lives here (an admonishment that seems quite similar to that which is found in Matthew 6:33, yes?), I believe that v8 is an urgent invitation or plea from us to the unsaved, to truly consider just how good the Lord really is and to come to Him then, in saving faith.

One aspect of Knowledge in the Bible is not just intellectual things like facts and ideas but experiential knowledge. Knowledge that comes from doing things, and experience in general and that is what the what the passage relates to, experiencing God through worship, prayer and one's personal life.


There are other passages and things in the Bible that are similar. In the old testament, in the Hebrew, the word for know was used to describe sexual intimacy between spouses going back to the aftermath of the Garden of Eden where "Adam knew his wife..." onward into the rest of the scriptures.

The "taste" part can cause confusion. In total "taste and see" merely means "recognize" as in recognize with the senses. You could substitute "hear and see" or "feel and see" and it would have the same meaning.
